The first one was damn good. I knew they were working on IronMan2, but can they do a sequel for it and be just as good? Not many sequels succeed to be a box office hit. But I'm crossing my fingers it works out for them on this one..... RDjr usually pulls off the impossible. And get a load of who's the villan. He'll make yer eyes light up.

how hard could it possibly be? it's not like the first one was anything other than superficial entertainment. 20 years from now no one will remember it like films of true quality. (such as: a fistful of dollars, terminator 2, raiders of the lost ark, empire strikes back)
cool effects, rock star antics, cleavage, explosions, action scenes, maybe a car chase, put it in a bag, shake it up, you got a movie. don't get me wrong, i love action films. i just wish they would put a little more effort into it. just my opinion, ymmv.

i will end up watching it eventually though. i just won't spend the $$ to see it at the theatre.

Well, yes. They are drawing material from a franchise that started in 1963. Obviously the film makers are fans of Ironman, and choose to use the information, which is a hard path to tread sometimes.
But It's good to see they are not going to just cheat, throw out that material, and make up whatever they want as Hollywood seems to do these days. Fans do respect that extra effort.

I think Mickey Rourke will make an excellent "Whiplash". Samuel L. Jackson again as "Nick Fury" (You didn't watch the first movie past the end credits? Tsk tsk for you! ).
Scarlett Johansson as "Black Widow", be interesting to see if she can be a 'heavy'.

Don Cheadle is replacing Terrance Howard as "Rhody" Rhodes. Don't know how that will affect the story, but WHO CARES! "Rhody" gets loaded up in the Ironman "War Machine" suit!

I'm going to do something exotic and wait till I see it to pass judgement. I'm not kidding; a lot of the fanboys like to flame things before they're even out of pre-production, and can't seem to reconcile themselves to the idea that a person can disagree with them and still be intelligent.

The first Iron Man was a pleasant surprise to me; I enjoyed it. It wasn't Orson Welles, but I insist that it did have an idea at it's center: Are the people who make the bombs morally accountable for the people who drop them, and are both of those accountable for the policy makers' decisions?

I'm a huge Iron Man fan, he was always my favourite superhero when I was a nipper so its wonderful to see the franchise being given the big budget treatment, and so lovingly done as well.

I can't get enough of the first movie. Love watching it on the big screen with the sound cranked. I don't buy a lot of movies but this one I own.

Action and special effects will seduce me every time. Looking forward to see what they have come up with next for Ironman. Thanks for the post James. :ernae:

I actually had just about every Marvel Iron Man comic printed up to 1968. First issue included but missed a couple of the 2-10 issues. Plus I had most of all the other Marvel comics, including first issues and the special issues.

My neighbor and I would wait at our local mom and pop grocery store on the day the magazine guy came to give the new issues to the owner. Then we'd bug him or his wife to get them out on the rack so we could be the first to buy the new copies. And that meant buying one of each for both of us, at 10 to 15 cents a pop.
