Divorced F1 boss wants €2.6bn back from wife!
The Formula One racing chief Bernie Ecclestone faces a legal battle to recover his €2.6bn fortune from his wife Slavica after their marriage was ended in the High Court in London yesterday.
The settlement could become the most expensive in legal history because a large portion of Mr Ecclestone's money had been transferred to offshore accounts in his wife's name.
Mrs Ecclestone (50) was granted a decree nisi on the grounds that the 24-year marriage had "irretrievably" broken down because of her 78-year-old husband's "unreasonable behaviour". A former model, Mrs Ecclestone left the family home in Chelsea, west London, last year. The couple have two daughters, Tamara (24) and Petra (19).
She has instructed Liz Vernon, the solicitor who secured a divorce deal for Karen Parlour, the former wife of the footballer Ray Parlour, which obliged him to pay her a lump sum plus a third of his future earnings.
Mrs Ecclestone is a non-domiciled UK resident who was entrusted to look after the money for her husband in accounts in Liechtenstein and Jersey.
Legal experts have predicted that she could walk away with a €1.1bn settlement.
