To all,

Now that I'm in Europe again, I've been thinking about something. With the updates to the Alphasim Mustang, including a multi-LOD model, is it time to retire the "AcWai" Mustang?

The reason I ask is that I'm close to finishing an update to the Mustang Vs. Fw-190 campaign, and this would be the time to make the choice.

However, before I make this commitment, I need to know that she has the "legs" to get to Berlin and back from both England and Ramitelli like the AcWai model does. I also have to check weapons loadouts.

What do you guys think of this model? Should me make the leap and leave the old stable pony behind?
 
The AlphaSim P-51D is not a multi-LOD Model, actually it has over 4 times the number of polygons, 10,0000 vs. 42,000. But she sure is sweet to look at!

Or not....

Despite any appeal of the Alpha model -- MLOD or not, my giving up the ACW Stang would be like giving up CFS2 altogether :pop4: ...just can't see the day.

As an option, you could make the players P-51 the AlphaSim, and the AI's the Wai P-51. Just a thought.

Easy work...as recent previous threads have pointed out, operational range is in the *.air file parameters. Just mate the ACW *.air file to the Alpha...same thing with the dp.


As an option, you could make the players P-51 the AlphaSim, and the AI's the Wai P-51.

Just have to be diligent in finding -- or making -- matching skins for a uniformed flight look.
 
Absolutely! As I have always said its the most realistic Mustang available (that is besides the fact its almost invincible) However I could always just send you the payware flight 1 Mustang if you want, should be getting an External Hard Drive later today so I will whack CFS2 on that!

Careful there....payware aircraft can not be shared or passes around. That is piracy...and this site has a No No stance toward piracy. Even the discussion of piracy in open threads is highly frowned upon.

You know the other day I was going to ask one of you guys to send me a password for one of Yasuhiko's planes. The disc I had all his stuff on crapped out on me. Anyway, I got up the nerve to ask him for it, AGAIN, and wouldn't you know it, he sent me all his passwords, again. What a guy! I felt a lot better doing it that way. I also printed all the passwords this time. Hope I never have to bug him again. Sorry, getting off the topic.......:salute:
