I am adding fields to PTO and am at 434...it this going to blow the game engine? thought i had better ask :)

Many of us have between 300 and 400 in our airbase.dat files and scenery files.

So, in answer to your question: I don't know yet. With the way Achim is ramping up the ETO/MTO and Chris W. and others have been ramping up the PTO with new airbases, I really don't think there is a limit set within the code.

Depends on the version of your operating system mostly. Older Win95 and 98 gives a much lower allowance than WinXP and Vista. I run XP Pro SP3 and i have 1265 installed entries - most are active in the library, some are disabled but still in the *dat file. I even have full function in MB, which is usually where an airbase.dat-associated problem will show up most painfully.

bearcat, I NEED your airbase.dat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, the manual additions of 400 airbases, GSL and scenery is monumental to me. Multiply that by 6 installs, whew!

I too am running XP SP3....

LOL...its my PTO/CBI install. I never bothered to remove the Euro and Med entries from combined pre-2005 installations before Jean's Multi-Install came along. Too much work all that deleting and renumbering. :faint:

thanks all, much appreciated Ok i will continue adding, i still have to add Mauro.s Afrika and more...

much appreciate the feed back, i have XP SP2 so i should be fine :)

Guys, any issues running XP SP3? I read somewhere that there were some problems, so I'm still on SP2. But you guys are running it successfully?

GR

SP3 is a fine option...you just have to do your homework on the know issues and counter them in advance of installation. The most common issues are install problems when running AMD chips and also when running ZoneAlarm firewall/AV/ASW suites.

There's an SP3 pre-installation patch circulating for the AMD chipset problem. As for the ZA thing, you just have to disable ZA completely by shutting it down prior to installation. Other than this, SP3 works as well as SP2.
