Is there a way to tone down the blackout from G force, seems to black out at low g's?

Howdy again, I know I can turn g force black out off, but I was wondering if there was a setting that I could use that would make the black out come on at a higher g setting? My AI planes are yanking and banking and I am blacking out pulling 3 or 4 gs. Thanks again for any info!

Lonny,

I don't know if you can adjust for sensitivity, but you can turn it off in the:

Opening screen > Settings > Realism Settings > G Effects

Roller coasters have a maximum of 4 Gs, so I'm sure that you should be able to pull 6 or 7 in a WW II fighter without problems. I guess young fighter pilots in a modern jet can pull 9 or so for a short time. You probably already know this, but you can use Shift G x 3 to get your location, speed, altitude and G force information while flying.

In WWII they didn`t have G suits and did blackout often in tight turns at high speeds or pull outs. This was a big problem with dive bomber pilots durring WWII.Everything can go black and you can still hear, move ,feel, think the only thing you lose is your sight. This is modeled very close to what happened to pilots in WWII.In CFS2 if you black out you are pulling more than 4Gs so just let up on the turn a little.

Hate to battle minutae but it was early in WW2 that there was a big problem with blackouts. The Germans realized this early on with their Stuka pilots who were passing out and crashing after doing bombing runs. They went on to develop a small inflatable bladder taht was worn beneath the sternum and orally pumped up by the pilot before he started their dive. The American forces also started to realize this and worked ona similar device. There was a movie with the icon Ronnie Regan that touched on the subject briefly. (Hellcats of the Navy?)
Anyway the proble was realized and a rudimentary device was used however I do not think all pilots believed or carried the device. Not sure on that point.
It wasn't until the development of the jets that real serious work began on the modern suit.

Jadg; point of interest. I have did some flying with Air Combat USA in which you fly a real plane against a opponent ,and I routinely (to their chagrin) would pull 6g's with hardly any problems. Constantly pegged their "G" meter!:icon_lol:

Here is a quick reference (although not complete) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-suits

It was this same low G tolerance in the sim that caused me to lose interest quickly in 100% realism, 'No Fun' multiplay online. I prefer the 'turn and burn' style, as opposed to 'boom and zoom'. In some cases i've seen this sim blackout even before 4 G's...that's just downright unacceptable. And since you're flying 100% NF, you can't just turn G force realism off without cheating. Most of the hardcore types get used to it and adapt their tactics over time, but i just got sick of it crampin' my style. :toilet:

Interesting, ya I was hoping to bump up the black out a little to 7,8.or 9 instead of 4, it seems to black out to easy. I have it turned off now. So it seems it is hard coded in game then, not a setting in a config somewhere, darn it. Thanks for the info.
