New skin for the Alpha Sim F-5 almost done. The A and E model use the same texture files, so the skins will work on either plane, though most are E model profiles. Got a good number of profiles in line for paints....this plane paints pretty quickly so I should be able to knock a fair number of them out this weekend.

Just discovered that there are some slight differences between the A and E mapping...nothing major. I will do the paints for the A model, then mod them to fit the E model. One big down side...the E model has shared texturing between the upper elevator surfaces and the lower elevator surfaces. Will have to figure out how to handle that issue in such a way as to produce the best looking aircraft without having camo pattern on the lower elevator surfaces.....may just do the elevators in "bare metal" and base color and leave the camo pattern off them.

The model probably could be edited with scasm so another texture bmp could be added for the lower surface, but I do not know if Alpha would allow there models changed or modified in this way.

Its a good idea to focus on Vietnam era planes right now, but i am still looking forward to your US airstrips- don't forget them.:wavey:
 
Haven't forgotten the US air strips...just taking time to learn the ins and outs of FSSC and trying to figure out how to add API macros to it to use. Have down loaded a lot of CFS2 API macros from the library here....and can't get them to work. And still trying to figure out how to get the plane to face in the direction I want it to.

Work continues on the Alpha Sim F-5A (then onto the E model). Yes, I am working on Piglet's F-5 series, but have not stopped working to improve the AS F-5....it is still a great aircraft to have in one's CFS2 hangar. I have 5 skins done, and have added gauges to the VC panel and will be repainting the VC panel for better gauge visibility. Full compliment of gauges: Attitude, Altitude, Air Speed, Vertical Speed Indicator, Radar Altitude, Engine RPM, Fuel Flow, Compass, Amps, G-meter, Still need to place fuel gauge, flaps, landing gear, and fuel selector on both the 2D and VC panels. Tango Romeo's Korea and Vietnam GPS and an AP system have been added to the F5 window. Have more skins to that I will be doing....can anyone say South Vietnam Airforce? They used the dickens out of the F-5!
