OK, no problem... your e-mail address by private message ?

The skins of Huub, what sort of blades ? white top ? logo or no logo, etc... I need the "engine" texture files of Huub for precisely rework...

My MDL is reflective, but decreased...

Cheers, :salute:

SOLOBO, The Saetta was equipped with the FIAT/Piaggo propeller which was regarded one of the best available at the start of the war. When I look at the pictures the early propellers were natural metal at the front and painted black (to avoid annoying reflections for the pilot) at the back, with a factory logo at the front. It seems the blades were painted black on both sides later, some of them still carried a factory logo and the tips were painted either yellow or white.

As the front and back are the same textures, both on the static as moving propeller you can not paint a different front of back. Therefore I have chosen for a complete black propeller with a yellow tip (As this is the most common on profiles).

Frederic, when you PM me your e-mail address I will forward you the textures. As the actual engine is quite hidden I have kept Mr Ito's original engine textures.

And some moving images from the Italians in action in Russia.....

Very interesting clip Huub! Two of my mother's cousins were lost in Russia while with JG54. I noticed a brief glimpse of a 109 in what I think are JG54 markings in that clip.

I can't imagine flying an missions in an open cockpit like that. The MC.200, or an I-16.....Minus ten C. on the ground could easily translate to minus sixty C. at altitude. Add to that, the airstream wind chill factor.

Absolutely evil stuff. I get cold just thinking about it.

That was a "Grunhertz" -109 for sure!

Brings back memories of my dad's descriptions of serving in the Aleutians after the retaking of Attu and Kiska. The muskeg might thaw a little during the day - or the guys and their vehicles would churn it up no matter what and it would get soft during the day. Any vehicle left in it in the evening would freeze right into it at night. Start the jeep in the morning, put it in gear thinking you could just drive out of it, and blow all four tires. Also, metal would get incredibly brittle in that cold and it was possible to shatter a hammer if it were left outside overnight and used the next morning.

I spent nearly 8 years working just north of Chicago. In the winter you could go to the officers' club at Naval Station Great Lakes and see Lake Michigan steaming in the cold air. One winter's day it got down to better than -40 without the wind chill. Weatherman and health dept were advising everyone to stay inside and not venture out. I tried to get in to work, actually got the car started but it was so cold the slushbox tranny wouldn't shift out of first gear. I wasn't about to drive about 25 miles to work in first gear so turned right around and stayed home.

Flight dynamics for MC200 Saetta, first test... AIR file and aircraft file.

Maybe in panels the zoom 0.50 is more easy to fly... And... How do you say in english...?
Reversal couple of blades...? Do not use rudder for take off, it is not necessary, effects of rotation of blades neutralized for tests... You will take off straight... Landing sweet but sensitive...

Feedbacks are welcome...

Cheers,

Frederic

Stunning work and great footage Huub!

Frederic, is 284 not a bit too fast for this plane? I took her up for a spin with your files.......

Hi Friends,
While I'm working on C.202 service pack (new models & textures)..... , I added some lines to C.200's panel.cfg and aircraft.cfg in order to simulate the guns flames and sounds...... You must have installed the C.202 in order to have all the necessary files. Remember that the guns, as in C'202 have ONLY 400 shots and, after 30' of fire You must reset the flight in order to continue to fire.......
In aircraft.cfg :

[lights]

//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing

light.0 = 3, 6.68, 15.94, -0.41, fx_navgresml_202 ,
light.1 = 3, 6.68, -15.94, -0.41, fx_navredsml_202 ,
light.2 = 3, -13.47, 0.00, 0.46, fx_navwhisml_202 ,
light.3 = 2, 9.52, 0.64, 3.04, fx_jfgun_202
light.4 = 2, 9.52, -0.64, 3.04, fx_jfgun_202

In panel.cfg :

[Window00]

gaugeXX=C202_MVG!pcmeneg_gun_shots_127, 2,2,1,1
gaugeXY=dsd_xml_sound3!dsd_xml_sound3, 3,3,5,5, .\Gauges\C202_MVG_127gunsound.ini

[Vcockpit01]

gaugeXX=C202_MVG!pcmeneg_gun_shots_127, 2,2,1,1
gaugeXY=dsd_xml_sound3!dsd_xml_sound3, 3,3,5,5, .\Gauges\C202_MVG_127gunsound.ini

I use a different panel, You must change the gauge numbers in accord to Your panel.cfg

Friends,

Flight dynamics for MC200 Saetta, second test... I think that is correct. AIR file and aircraft file.

Half power for take off, Until approximately 70 75 Kias ... :salute:

About flight dynamics, I sometimes noticed the problem: during takeoff, when the back of the aircraft stands up (of course, with front main gear), the wheels of the main gear sink more or less into the ground of the track, or get up a little bit too early before the takeoff... This problem comes from the contact_points. They are very sensible to adjust. But this adjustment depends of other parameters who must be correct (in first!) about the aircraft, and I discovered that very recently:

[AirWrench] ----------------> ( not standard )
Aircraft_Length=xx.xxx
nose_position_lon=x.xxx

If these values are too wrong, impossible to adjust correctly the contact_points for takeoff and landing...

And more time ago:

reference_datum_position = 0, 0, 0 // (feet) distance from FlightSim Reference position: (1/4 chord, centerline, waterline)
empty_weight_CG_position = 0, 0, 0 // (feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from specified datum

All these adjustments work together and must be in good adequation..

It was sometimes a crazy affair... :sleep:

A soundpack soon for the old beast...

And I can assure you; they sound very nice!

Little friends the Italian style.....

Flight dynamics, test 03

Hi friends,

Flight dynamics, a little mistake on contact_points, the back gear was too far behind, I saw that examining the ground effects, external view... aircraft file fixed, and AIR file adjusted, but the most important, in this case, is the aircraft file.

(note: Inside the aircraft file, the view is adjusted for a zoom 0.50 .Idem for panel to come, if permission granted.)

P.S. : If, for tests, you want take off and landing straight (no effects of blades, as a contra-prop) , add, at the end of the chapter [flight_tuning] this:

hi_alpha_on_roll=-0.32000hi_alpha_on_yaw=0.50000
p_factor_on_yaw=0.00000
torque_on_roll=0.00000
gyro_precession_on_yaw=0.00000
gyro_precession_on_pitch=0.5
gyro_precession_on_roll=1.00000

With this option you can examine the aircraft in external view during takeoff and landing...

Cheers,

Frederic:salute:

A soundpack soon for the old beast...

Hi Friends,
You can use also the my CR.42's sound pack, by OBIO. The sounds are for an open canopy plane with a 14 cylinder radial engine (FIAT CR.42 and Macchi C.200 had the same radial 14 cyl. FIAT A74 RC38 engine)......

panel

improved panel, essentially for specific minipanel...

Then:
shift + 2 : GPSmap ( original, but position changed )
shift + 3 : radio ( original, but position changed )
shift + 4 : autopilot
shift + 5 : aiport ID + GPS100a ( Data which can be completed or changed with GPS100a application )

link for Airport ID gauge :
http://www.fs2000.org/index.php/downloads/doc_details/33265-fs2004-airport-id-gauge
( link included in zip file )

visor in bmp minipanel file ( for those who have ALPHA SU Flanker, a complete visor will appear )
The visors are adjusted, at 100 foots, with level of the sea.

For those who installed my third aircraft file for flight dynamics, and who have Plane Design Spitfire, vorticies will appear in the sky during pronounced curves.

View in aircraft file and views in panels are adjusted by the same way for zoom 0.50 and work together...
In 2D panel and minipanel, view is 0.50 in all directions.

Just add or replace in the current panel, and add the six gauges in the main gauges folder.
