It's Here!!! It's Here!!! It's Here!!!!

I have emailed Avangate and received the following reply:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your message
.

We noticed that the shipment process started on 20. January.

Average shipping time for your back-up CD is 4 to 7 business days, but please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery to account for foreseen variances in production and shipping.

For more details, feel free to contact us.

Kind regards,

But I received an email on 16 January to advise me that it was despatched on that day.

What is not clear to me is whether or not they have despatched a second copy. Will I have better luck with this one?

It's a good thing I am a patient man or just glad that I can't yet use it as my system is currently down until Friday, when my controls come back.:)

The answer is on our website in teh FAQ section:

http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQAvangate.htm

The original dispatched date unfortunately is the date that your payment was accepted and the date they expected you to 'download' the software - given the sheer size of our application we have not offered this service yet and instead Avangate ship a manufactured DVD to you (yes we are still looking into download service but imagine frustrated users having large 3.5Gb files aborted halway through due to internet glitches etc etc - yes we are still mulling it over).

Avangate have now corrected the wording of the e-mails to reflect our requested business model.

Given that the package was sent on the 20th, and it is quoted as 4-10 working days, then the worst case scenario is 16 calender days counting weekends.

This means your package can take up to the end of the 1st week in February to arrive.

If after that you have not received a package - say by a week later - remember Postal Services do have parcels stolen and or go missing (real world) - we will replace it for you.

Finally there will soon be tracking numbers dispatched with every purchase at time of shipment.

PS despite the fact they say 7 business days in the e-mail above we have always been told 4 - 10 business days so I am going by our agreement with them, and as quoted in all our correspondence with them i.e 4-10 business days!

God forbid there are frustrated users waiting for their packages for weeks or worse they receive a DVD and its useless due to a faulty disc.

Forgive my sarcasm but right now i am just stupid and very angry!

The DVD process is working fine, people are getting them. A very small % had errors (this is being further addressed). The details of delivery are clear before ordering. Also as of now you can now also request a tracking number if you have waited near the 10 business days and want to check up on your package email.

Winder is pointing out a worst case scenario and yep one or two out of all deliveries will be on that edge of timespan, but most are sooner.
In extreme cases we can help if the DVD then arrives faulty....

Yepeedeedooda!
After ppl spend 70,- bucks that should be for granted!

I just read this!
It takes FOUR day to confirm a credit card payment?
Thats a hell of a service i imagine standing 4 day in the line of the supermarket while they confirm the payment for my CC. Thinking about bringing a comfy armchair the next time getting a carton of milk.

Indeed but the comments above could be taken to mean it isn't. I'm simply clearing it up, not having a "go"

Well nope some are shipped in 24 hours, some people longer yes, some they have to check, (bad address, spelling mistakes, security checks) it will vary for some as always.

I guess Parky is farther East, and us out in the ...

WILD WEST, just have to wait till the Pony Express dude drops it OFF.

Cheers,

PS Why did Parky go back to work?

Duh?
That might be right for paypal payments but i couldn´t imagine any payment i made online with my CC in the last decade where it took FOUR days to confirm a payment, normally it takes a second or two.
I know it´s not you guys fault but avangate should get their ducks in a row.

Duh?? Nice.
BadKarma1001 we aren't saying all payments are like that. Are you?

People can contact Avangate via email or telephone if they have ANY issues with THEIR order.

All I know is this is turning what I intended to be a very positive thread, into something other than that completely. Karma.....time to move on perhaps, and please try to be a little less abrasive with your comments.

Thanks,

Parky

I received my copy today. Thanks guys for all of your efforts. I'm looking forward to installing and flying this.

Sorry about that it wasn´t meant it offensive. It was just an expression of my puzzlement!:engel016:

Well, all i say is that it can´t be that the confirmation of payment with a regular credit card takes 4 days! I buy stuff online all over the world since amazon.com was a simple online cd-shop in the 90ies and it took NEVER 4 days to confirm a cc payment.
Paypal might be another story.

Yep OK no problem,. let's get back on track.
As I say anyone can contact Avangate customer support they will help with ANY issues re orders/payments.
