You're not really saying that the Nimrod is more pleasing to look at than the P-8, are you?

One word NIMROD!!
Want to hear something even more peculiar?I am, by no means, that knowledgeable about the subject. But somewhere I read that the Navy had been reluctant to change from turboprop to jet for subhunting, because of the jets ability to maintain a slower speed over a search area? Anyone know more about this?
Thanks.

...that the updated Orion 2000 would have been a MUCH better platform, but the Boeing was selected instead? Strangely enough, I have heard that it was a better platform and that the main reason the "Posideon" was selected was because the NAVY fliers "wanted a jet".
Mind you, hope I'm wrong-- toadying to the whims of a group because they want to set themselves up for post-military employment is the type of goofy self-interest people seem to be getting away with these days--if the story I heard was true.
I dunno...to me, the Boeing doesn't have the personality or capability (other than high transit speeds) of the Orion.
