I'm running an Asus laptop FX517ZR with a NVidia 3070 card running Win 11. Here's my problem, CFS2 doesn't recognize hardware acceleration and I only have the low rez pix/images/skins etc. Does anyone know how to get CFS2 to display the better graphics? I've been through so many posts so far and none seem to work. Thanks in advance.

Also give this a shot:

crack open the CFS2.cfg file in note pad. Scroll till you see [DISPLAY] and your video card and resolution settings. Immediately below it, add copy/pasta this text in:

Dither=0
Filter=1
Trilinear=1
Mipmap=1
Antialias=1
HWTnL=1
Disable=0

Make sure that Disable=0 and not 1.

I appreciate the suggestion, but............

Like I said in my original post I've already tried many things including what you suggested. I'm hoping you might know some additional info which I might try. Please send me anything you may know of which may help.
Thank you,
Danimalhanke

I finally fixed CFS2 to work on my Win11 machine

Thanks to everyone who helped solved this.
Here's what I did: I went to my old install folders (I have several) and added ddraw.dll from DDrawCompat-v0.4.0 and everything is good again. So simple, yet kinda frustrating too.
Thanks again.

As a DDrawCompat user I have seen some textures saved with Microsoft's imagetool not being displayed right with but can be fixed by opening the texture with DXTbmp.exe and saving it.
