So last Tuesday at 4:45 am I jump into my truck to go to work...and discover broken glass all over the place! I look over to the passenger side window only to realize that it's gone. Then I look down to where the bag that had all my Bowling gear in it used to be...

$300 worth of stuff in that bag. Ball, shoes, and assorted accessories. I got the ball a few months ago and I had just about got it the way I wanted it. :frown:

The glass is replaced, and I replaced all of my stuff with the exception of the ball. That will have to wait a bit. Until then I am back to my old heavy ball, which actually did okay last night.

This is the first time I actually had something of value stolen from me. It really sucked!

I know what you mean. My car was broken into a month ago and a lot of tools and computer gear was taken.

I hope the sucker ODs on his crack.
 
I guess I've been lucky. I've only had my car "broken into" one time years ago and then I forgot and left the windows down overnight when staying at a friends and my 8 track tape player was ripped from the dash and all my tapes were gone.

However this is such a low crime area where I live, the only thing we've had happen around here was a gas thief for a while several years ago. After the girl across the road that was dating him dumped him, the gas thefts stopped.
 
The violation of your peace of mind and your property truly are revolting. I sympathize tremendously for you tangible losses. But, I know for you the psychological pain of working for something that someone else steals in such a malicious manner is worse.

People who do this sort of thing truly suck!

Some people don't like it out here in Northeastern New Mexico, but I love it. Among the many reasons why is the extremely low crime rate same as you enjoy. For me, the quality of the people in your community is worth so much more than other ammenities.

Had a 1965 Mustang GT Fastback and $2500 worth of Ingersoll-Rand air tools and Craftsman tools stolen out of my garage several years back. The car was found burnt. I had $7000 invested in it. I felt raped. It's an awful feeling Robert, no matter how much is lost.

We found out later it was two teens in our neighborhood and the little devils only served minimum juvy time. I got paid for the car cause I had good insurance, but I never found one that clean to work with again. Those brats were court ordered to pay up and never did. I has to spend money to sue the parents. It never feels like justice was served. It may seem like a small amount they took from you to some, but you can bet your life that they will be getting bolder.

man that sucks Robert, hope you find who did it and ,.. well you know.

I had my apt broken into when I was in college, the biggest thing they took was a really nice Sony boombox. A few days later I was at another complex a few streets over visiting a friend and I happen to notice some guys playing basketball listening to music (well rap, not music) and the boombox looked just like mine. I went to my friends apt, got his binoculars and sure enough it was mine because of a sticker I had on the side from my GFs work place (I also had my name and serial engraved on the bottom). I waited for hours out of sight, waiting for one of them to go home with it and then called a police friend of mine. I then knocked on his door and confronted him, a few choice words later, some drawn guns and handcuffs and I had my boombox back and a feeling of satisfaction, although being able to shoot the guy would have been better, but oh well, LOL.
 
The only time I have experienced a break in was when I was a young kid...someone broke in and stole a couple of our CB radios. Funny thing was..to get to the one unit they moved a large canning jar filled with silver (and a few gold) coins and set it aside. The perp left behind something that we all recognized...a replica US Calvary hat. Yes, we knew the guys who did it. We got the CB radios back, and the money to pay for the window they broke to get in.....my older brother, two older cousins, and one of their friends who was about the size of the state of Montana really worked those guys over something serious.

we all have stories, it happens to everyone. but i gotta ask...
who the hell steals a bowling ball? that makes no sense to me. if it's a custom ball it's not gonna be much good to someone other than you, even if it is pretty
 
Yep...that was the hard part for me to get!

My guess is that the loser that did it had no idea what was in the cool looking bag. Needless to say I won't leave anything in my truck again!

That's precisely the way I feel about much of the Nebraska panhandle. There is a sandhills community I've been checking for a year now. No crime, period. Great people, lots of outdoors stuff to do, clean water & air comparatively, much more. Things like this cannot have a price put on them. Yeah, we may live in the boonies but every minus has a plus, every plus a minus. Am loving it here overall.
 
I understand how it feels, a few days ago a guy broke into my car and stole my camera.it took a day or 2 but when i found out, lets just say the local mitilia showed up at his door armed and ready. got my camera back and i felt a little better to.

yeah!! We should make everything immediately punishable by extreme means. After all, none of us could ever get wrongly accused of something, or end up in a situation where we have to defend ourselves and then stand accused after. :mixedsmi:
 
Thats a real shame...Sorry to hear that Robert.... may the thief burn in hell.As Ted said, its probably just the start of their crimimal career.

I have have very little stolen..Next to none...
