I've been thieved!

A family of bad rednecks named Hankins, who lived down the road at the time, had been hauled in for stealing lawn mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, etc. I was working on a model in my backroom in the lower part of the house, when I hear my Australian Shepard bark. I went up to see and the damn Hankins were trying to steal my riding lawn mower from my garage in broad daylight. I loaded my double-barrel with bird shot, stepped out the door and splatter their monkey-**** brown Granada with two chambers. I didn't know white boys and a Ford Granada could move that fast. Never had another problem, neither have any of the other neighbors. Sheriff Mike Taylor live right across the gulch from me and told me to call him next time, they want to catch them in the act. Wasn't going to be no next time. Folks here in the county don't encounter robberies or any crime to speak of that often, but in the city of Danville, it is getting so bad one needs to pack a rod. There was a record number of concealed weapon permits this past month.

Doesn't sound like a very nice country to live in. Unless you live out in the sticks you're either being robbed or cleaning your gun in anticipation :tgun2:

Maybe the thief was just jealous of your bowling prowess?

So well stated Caz.(And hurray for you!) I wish we had a carry and conceal law here in Illinois. Illinois and a few other states don't allow it. At least for the now. It would definitely give the miscreants, the punks, the gang bangers, the dirt bags, and the petty and professional crooks something to think about before they decide to burglarizing or holding up someone. I'm all for police protection,...but usually it winds up they're doing the paper work after breaking and entering had already been committed.

We aint far behind on that score. Three scrotes tried to nick my car only I caught 'em in the act, I only saw one of them at first, went for him ready to kick his head in when his two mates jumped me from behind held a large knife to my throat and bundled me into the back of my own car and tried to drive off. Luckily my car was a 10 year old rust bucket while they were trying to start it a friend of mine, this was at work by the way, came round saw what was happening and got help. I shudder to think what they would've done with me had they been able to drive to somewhere secluded.

Good job you didn't have a gun or they would have killed you!

Bein as how Clark is from England and there's a major gun ban in that country, that probably explains why the theives didn't have a gun to start with ...

At least they were honest law abiding theives ... carrying a knife instead of a gun.

Sorry, let me rephrase that.

:applause:

Are you applauding the fact that Clarke is from England, that guns are banned here, that the thieves didn't have one, that they were 'law abiding theives' or that they were carrying a knife instead?

none of the above.

i'm applauding snuffy's creative use of smart-assery. being an enthusiast myself, it is always a pleasure to see the work of a true master

The only time I have experienced a break in was when I was a young kid...someone broke in and stole a couple of our CB radios. Funny thing was..to get to the one unit they moved a large canning jar filled with silver (and a few gold) coins and set it aside. The perp left behind something that we all recognized...a replica US Calvary hat. Yes, we knew the guys who did it. We got the CB radios back, and the money to pay for the window they broke to get in.....my older brother, two older cousins, and one of their friends who was about the size of the state of Montana really worked those guys over something serious.

OBIO

My own tale of woe transcends crackheads breaking into cars, the thief in my loss was the state of Ohio, the county sheriff, an estate court judge and 2 lawyers, and 3 people I thought were my sister and 2 brothers who stood by and let it happen. My mother was forced into a nursing home against her will, the house foreclosed and sold illegally as a disabled person was still living in it(me), I was locked out and her and my possessions looted and sold. They took us for something right now valued at 450 grand in Buckwheat Dollars. I had a collection of 1400 model kits and things like the first 8 Spiderman comic books from 1964-65. It's clear US citizens have the same property rights as Soviet citizens from 1921-1991.

My passport renews in 2011 and as soon as a few personal things are resolved I'm going to leave it to the people who failed to show up and vote in 2008 to repeal the Soviet healthcare bill just passed and I'm emigrating to Israel. I have some military training would be useful as a citizen there. I'll never recover what was stolen from me as it took me my whole life to acquire it; one positive note is I won't have an "old age", I can't afford to have one. At the moment I make museum quality American Indian weapons as a hobby and they are the only things of value I have. Anyone wants to steal those I will gladly give them, point first.

If you lost a piece of sporting equipment, computer equipment, etc. to a crackhead reckon yourself lucky: the most experienced and effective thieves are in your local and state government and pray you don't attract their attention. We live in a well-fed Lie and den of thieves, I prefer half-starved truth and a venue where you don't stand by with no redress of grievance while everything you worked for is stolen, you shoot the thieves.

Actually the UK is higher in total crimes per capita than the US. Now excuse me, I have to go clean my guns :salute:

Please don't bring out the statistics...The crime and imprisonment rates in the US are downright embarrassing.

Also, those statistics are based on reported crimes, and general crime at that. Look at the statistics for violent crimes and murder, and you will see the US is higher on the list.

My point being that although we have crime issues, the UK does also as well as many other countries.
You are correct though, our imprisonment rate is embarrassing, not only are our jails to soft, we need more capital punishment to take care of the many repeat offenders.

yeah!! We should make everything immediately punishable by extreme means. After all, none of us could ever get wrongly accused of something, or end up in a situation where we have to defend ourselves and then stand accused after
LOL, just so serious!
Gun, knife, bat, big fart, don't matter--dead is dead.
