Iwo Jima Scenery Coming Along

It starting to look great.
One remark though about those Mustangs. There were never any p-51's on Iwo in those colors, might it be an idea to introduce some right colors on them?

That would really be nice Jan, the time put into making what we have has been astronomical. To paint the aircraft in the correct colors and with the number of aircraft involved would seem almost impossible for time reasons. You can download Guy Diottie's P-51D from Flightsim.com and if so inclined paint a bunch with the correct colors. I would instantly change the one's we have for your paint schemes. If you would do that I would be eternally grateful. Let me know if you are interested.

We have another beta Motoyama One and Two out to the testers. I will keep everyone posted.

do you have a link to this mustang, I can't find it...

Jan, I looked at the texture and it is quite simple. If we could have a generic version of the, say 47th FS, at least the correct colors would be on the airfield. With all the work that has gone into this scenery I for one would really appreciated your talent making it what it should be. I am going to look at the bgl and see if I can produce two different bgl files that would use a different paint. This will allow us to use two different paint schemes. At least we could make one for Moto1 and another for Moto2. If I can help just let me know.

We have some of the proper air squadrons on Iwo Jima thanks to special work by Guy Diotte and Jan Kees. Here are a couple more shots including a downed B-29 that had to make a deep water landing off the west coast and some C-47 sub chasers that stopped by. You can see the new air groups as well.

Early Morning Flight

Mark is home and working on the scenery objects. It should not be long now. Here is an early morning flight above Motoyama two.

Battle Effects Added

This video show some of the battle effects added to the north eastern end of the island. The Japanese were bottled up there for a last stand. The Sherman tanks are punishing them. I have changed the sound so it can be heard at a more realistic distance.

Mark is finishing the Iwo Jima Library but in my spare time here is another added feature. A Japanese Freighter trying to run the gap between the volcanic island to the NW and Iwo Jima. A couple of pics.
