is a bonehead...

being one of the 'hired gun' road racers for the Nationwide race at Road America he took a green/white/checker restart 4 wide, drove his car into the grass, lost it, came back on the track and took out Max Papis and another car while saving his own sorry butt and going on to finish 3rd. this little incident caused another g/w/c which of course caused the race to go longer expected and running the leader, Justin Allgaier out of gas...there may have been another g/w/c in there somewhere i didn't actually see the end of the race.

Papis said it best over his radio...'way to go Jaques, good job!!'.

He sure is.
Not.
Two years in CART back when it was a serous competition, Indy 500 and Championship winner, Formula One, again when it was a decent series, two years in and a World Drivers title ....... 'Bonehead'?????
One thing JV is for sure, he is his own man, and that is a rare commodity.
:applause:

Okay I just watched the replay.....
Definitely not a smart move...looks like he forgot the road narrowed out and turned into grass.....

whatever....today he was a bonehead:isadizzy:

on the other hand...Papis was driving one of Happy Harvick's cars so its all good:applause:

Hey All,

Yeah that was a total bonehead move by JV. Equally big bonehead move was Fellows thinking he can pass under caution and win the race. The rules are clear slow down, no passing, no racing back to the finish, no local cautions. How he could be upset about a clear violation of the rules is baffling - he was beat - by a second tier NASCAR regular - get over it. NASCAR got it right.

Oh an if you never watch it watch Kyle Petty and Jeff Rutledge in the 30 mins you'll never get back. There have been several episodes. So funny - like tonight Rutledge said sheep look alot like Boris Said! :icon_lol: You have to watch to get the context.

As an add quoting Kyle Petty from last weeks 30 mins you'll never get back "Spare the rod spoil the child - Kurt and Kyle Busch" - right on Kyle! Thank God for Jimmy Spencer and Richard Childress too bad they had to "parent" the Busch boys.

One thing I've noticed about you EasyEd....
It doesn't matter to you at all what the topic or subject of a thread is....You'll throw in an insult toward the Busch Brothers, Martin, or Montoya...every time...guaranteed, regardless of thread topic
....;)

Hey All,

P you need to go back through the threads - but I'll give you a recap.

Martin - I don't like that he got away with blowing an engine to give Roush and Kenseth a title - smart move well yes absolutely - ethical? I leave that up to you that said I've also praised Martin for the help he has given Danica and as he himself once said that he made a career learning how to roll the center and he has taught a lot of other drivers a lot about NASCAR - overall kudos to Mark but he got away with one.

Busch Boys - Kurt was a punk until the day Spencer got in his face. Go back through the threads and you will see I like Kurt now especially since he is in a Dodge - go Kurt! Kyle well he's been nothing but a punk but he has been keeping his nose clean for a few weeks now - will it continue? I don't know but I hope so. From me absolutely a thumbs up to Kurt on getting more poles and wins - I like to see what I believe to be the most innovative manufacturer in history in the winner's circle - Kurt and Brad basically carry that torch today. Kyle show me you've grown up.

Montoya - well I actually like alot about him but at the end of the day I like cold calculating always on top of the tactical and strategic situation that have the skill to back it up kind of drivers. I don't care for hotheads that drive on the edge with their heart and emotions on their sleeve. Harvick is probably the exception as I believe Harvick is a lot smarter than anybody gives him credit for being - I also really believe he just likes messin with peoples heads (like ol ironhead) - but that is just my opinion. Nor do I like drivers who think that earned respect in Indycar or F1 means they automatically get respect in NASCAR - I think they start at the bottom and have to earn it. Montoya is - despite his foibles - doing that and he does have a pretty nice golf swing.

The other comment I'll make is that so many seem to think that drivers who drive in series that turn right and left are inherently superior to drivers in series that only turn left.

I do not and never will believe that that premise is basically sound.

I believe that it depends on the inherent ability and even more importantly the history, training and experience of the individual. What that means in terms of NASCAR is that - because of that attitude - I'll not generally cheer for open wheelers winning in NASCAR but there are some who have come into NASCAR and contributed so much and worked so hard I really hope they win some races - Boris Said is probably the best recent example - I really would love to see Boris win some really big ones in NASCAR - Boris in victory lane at Daytona or Indy would be outstanding.

I won't see most of the race tomorrow - hope it is a good one.

I'm not afraid to say what I think - and all this is my opinion - why don't you say what you think instead of just sniping?

-Ed-

no need for a recap, we are all very well familiar with your opinions.....so how bout sticking to the subject of the thread ok?

fellows should have been a man and gone and appologised to sorenson..but i bet he is still mad they "took the win away".....he clearly passed under caution..the man was waving the flag next to the bridge and he was going way faster than caution speed ( pit road speed) when he passed.....just plain not cool...

I wonder if this will have a big impact on Jacques future performance in NASCARb?
