JF Tornado GR1 RELEASED

No need to manually re-configure. Just run the "CfgGen.exe" in the JF_TornadoGR1 folder & it will do the work for you.

Didin´t know that. Thanks!

Mantaining a pretty solid 30FPS in VC now with sp3. Thanks JF!

We've uploaded a quick start guide video. Its approximately five minutes long and it covers the basics required to get the aircraft in the air from a cold & dark state with the minimum amount of fuss (it doesn't strictly follow the extensive checklists that are included in the manual):

The virtual cockpit is quite nice, and it looks even better when seen from a video.
That's the kind of cold&dark I like.
However, I'm a bit surprised by the very low engine sound. The engine start sound was anything but impressive. Is this normal ?

Just made a few short flights with the SP3 Tornado and it seems like a great improvement to me. The flight characteristics feel more believable and the HUD functions properly. No frame rate issues on my nearly two years old computer. I think JF deserves credit for their ambition to develop such a complex plane and for persevering against great odds to iron out the wrinkles. I yet have to try the avionics etc., but if you had given up on the Tornado - try SP3. I am glad I did.

Thanks for the positive feedback. It was certainly a challenge and I think its fair to say that we underestimated the complexity of the Tornado (it would have been easier to do an airliner in many respects). We are very much looking forward to the considerably simpler Hawk and TB20 :encouragement:

The aircraft sounds were not at 100% volume in that video. I'd recommend giving the demo a try - http://www.justflight.com/articles/tornado-gr1-service-pack-3-update-demo-and-tutorial-video

Martyn - may i ask, is it possible to add or change the loadout when using the reduced polygon model ? I try out the Demo and notice that, if i use the configuration-tool and select the reduced polygon model, it is not possible to add loadout or change it. Is it possible in the full package ?

Many thanks for the Demo - it is a very nice plane !!!

Kindest regards

Dirk

Should be no problem. In the full package, when using the light VC option (where you cannot access the rear seat TV screens) you use the 2D popup TV screens to configure loadouts, fuel, flightplan etc.

Henk, thanks for your explanation - thats realy good to read - now i need to explain to my wife why i need another jet in my hangar :mixed-smiley-010:

I downloaded the new Tornado demo updated and it runs very well even on the laptop but Norton anti virus deleted the exe folder every time while on a different computer running Kaspersky had no problems at all.

Im really struggling with this aircraft I have read the manual followed the instructions and reverse thrust does not engage at all.

Works for me. In fact it works so well I can litterally back the Tornado up with the reverse thruster. (Is that even alowed!? :a1310:)

Admitedly it's a bit finicky to engage, but when it is, you'll see indicators on the panel saying so. Then you need to engage throttle to get thrust.

Which method are you using when trying to activate the reverse thrust? At what point are you getting stuck?
