A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - British

Description: De Havilland DH-83 Fox Moth CFS 2

This aircraft is a conversion of Julian Higg's DH-83 Fox Moth for FS9. The package contains both Dh-83 & DH-83C models converted to show in CFS 2. The original intention was to get permission for a conversion of the pre-war DH-83, but it seems fitting in the spirit of Julian's original package to provide a copy of the post-war DH-83C model also, as that is how the original aircraft was released.

I found a single reference to RAF Fox Moth's operating in the CASEVAC role in the CBI, during the Battle of the Admin Box FEB 44, & that led me on a hunt for suitable markings. I found an aircraft construction list so was able to pin down an aircraft serial number & unit. Surveying the same list, I then noticed that several of these planes were also operated by private airlines servicing the goldfields in Papua New Guinea, being destroyed during the Jap advance in 42, & that led to the 2nd skin.

"model" is Julian's DH-83 model, de-shined for the RAF camo

"model1" is Julian's DH-83C model, with it's enclosed cockpit

"model2" is Julian's DH-83 model inn it's original shine, perfect for silver doped aircraft

"texture" is MA955 - impressed 31.10.42 and was used by Bengal CU and later by 3rd TAF Communications Sqn, Comilla. Soc 31.7.44.

"texture.ZK-ADI" is ZK-ADI(Formerly G-ADHA) in Air Travel New Zealand Colours - this is a CFS2 version of one of Julian's original paints.

"texture.VHUZL" is VH-UZL of Guinea Airways Ltd, Adelaide. Destroyed by enemy action Lae, nr Salamaua 21.1.42

Peperez fashioned the airfile. All I did was to carry out the original conversion, then mix up some reasonable paint jobs & give it a dp file.

To install, simply extract to a temporary folder & copy over into the correct CFS 2 folders.

Thanks to:
Julian Higgs - he picked up on one of those neglected subjects & sparked my enthusiasm to make it flyable in CFS 2.

Peperez - he took the basic aircraft & got it flying as it should.
