A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Scenery Add-Ons

Description: This is a package of 27 airfields and seaplane bases in Greece.
Almyros, Argos, Calato, Calato seaplane, Eleusis, Heraklion, Kalabaka, Kalamata. Kitros, Kitros seaplane, Koaklaina, Larissa, Malemes, Malemes seaplane, Menedi, Milos, Milos seaplane, Molaoi, Paramythia, Piraeus, Piraeus seaplane, Retimo, Sedes, Trikala, Yania, Yithion, and Yithion seaplane.

I made some of these airfields already some years ago for Rami's Hellas and Pattle campaigns. But then, they were made to match the stock textures and mesh. These were updated with my December, 2012 release of the new Balkan airfields, but Sedes, Molaoi, Menedi, Koaklaina, Kalamata, Kalabaka, Argos, and Almyros are all new airfields.

This package is made to fit Sander de Cocq's Eurw area, EW textures, coastlines and all of the recent Rhumbaflappy mesh and watermasks.

Every airfield provides fuel in front of tanks or oil drums and many of them have landing lights for night time operations.

NOTE: This package is a replacement / update for the December, 2012 Greece_Alb.zip package.

Description: This is a package of 9 airfields in Bulgaria.

Belitsa, Gorna-Dzhumayo, Filiporci, Krainici, Petrich, Plovdiv, Varna, Vbra, and Vrajdebna.

I made Gorna Dzhumayo some years ago for Rami's Hellas and Pattle campaigns. But then, they were made to match the stock textures and mesh. The Petrich airfield & the updated Gorna Dzhumayo airfield were included with the December, 2012 update of my Balkan airfields. All the others are new.

This package is made to fit Sander de Cocq's Eurw area, EW textures, coastlines and all of the recent Rhumbaflappy mesh and watermasks.

Good afternoon,

Achim has uploaded all of the bases needed for the Balkan campaign, currently in progress. These airfield packages are a replacement for all of the 2007/2008 - vintage airfields in the Balkans, as well as for the December, 2012 airfield package release.

All of the airfields from the December, 2012 airfield package are still intact, but two (Valona and Koritza) have been relocated. There are also new airfields in all three packages (Albania, Greece, and Bulgaria)

Courtesy of Bearcat241's suggestion when testing the Balkans, all packages contain the old airfields and step-by-step instructions on how to remove any old scenery if you have it loaded, thereby avoiding any complications when installing this new scenery.

PLEASE comment in this thread if the instructions are in any way unclear or if you have any questions!

And a BIG thanks to Achim for all of his hard work on these! :ernae:

Good evening,

I also re-uploaded and moved to the front the airbase package for Romania. This package has been updated with new replacement airfields for Mizil and Otopeni, and also now contains the Yugoslavian airfield of Illandza, which is geographically close to Romania.

The instructions for removal of the old airfields and how to install the new airfields are the same as the other new packages of Bulgaria, Albania, and Greece.

Have fun!

Bearcat,

Achim said he was considering re-doing ALL of the bases in Italy to bring them up to current standards. The "new" Ramitelli you now possess is an example of that effort. If he chooses to do that, it will be some time before that is complete.

Word has it that he and his engineers are somewhere in the Levant, but that's all I can say.

WOW!!!!

Superb sceneries!!!

:applause: :jump: :applause: :jump: :applause: :jump: :applause:

Thank very much Achim!

Rami, let me ask you, are the textures displayed from Sander's ETO package? My they look beautiful! How about the water textures?

Cheers!

Kelti,

Those screenshots are from Achim. The land textures are Sander's, yes. The water, however, looks like some kind of custom mix. In my Med install, I use the water textures found in Jean Bomber's Gibraltar package.

Sounds like a good plan, but i don't have a clue what you meant by, "The "new" Ramitelli you now possess". Not to get ahead of Achims plans, i don't possess the new Ramitelli, just the updated TA missions you sent. But if its not too much to ask, can you send me the updated base?

Besides the new Ramitelli, do you have any idea at this time how much the "new Italy" project will affect the current TA campaign?

Bearcat,

If you recall, a couple of weeks ago you petitioned and I thought you received from Achim a new Ramitelli airfield to replace the one from the campaign, and I sent you modified missions that incorporate that new base, re-timing and adjusting all of them.

If he does choose to do this, I will then have to alter all of the Tuskegee missions starting with #6 up to the ones I sent you, because from there on, all of them involve either attacks on, or departures from, bases in Sicily and Italy. It's the price paid for progress, my friend.

If you don't have the base, I can send it to you...

Ramitelli

Bearcat,

I sent Ramitelli your way on Feb 2nd. Maybe I got the email adress wrong.
Could you, please, pm me your mail again.

Sorry for any inconceniance

Cheers

Achim

Thanks Achim for another superb package of airbases!!

And thanks also to Rami for pushing everyone a little bit, keeping order of the ever increasing library stock and keeping this great sim alive with his campaigns.

And thanks also to Bearcat for thinking in advance looking after the not so clever (myself!).

Cheers, Discus

So Rami, do any of these Greek airfields conflict with your Athens beta?

Oldwheat,

No. One of the advantages of being a tester is I get them and use them well before most of you. It helps me progress on campaigns and missions much faster than I ordinarily could, and I designed the Athens beta based on where Piraeus is currently located. :mixedsmi:
