I had the great good fortune to see Jimmy at the start of his F1 career when he drove a Lotus 21 in the first of the Tasman Cup Series, and the privilege of seeing him win his final Grand Prix in the Lotus 49T.
He was a phenomenal talent, far above the rest of his peers, a man's man and a straight up good bloke.
I remember the day when I was informed we had lost him, almost to the exact time of day, where I was and what I was doing.
To use the old saying, Jimmy was an 'Ornament to the Sport'.
