Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Jimmie Johnson's Take On the Points System

He believed, based on performance during the regular season, the finale should have been between Harvick, Team Penske drivers Logano and Brad Keselowski, and Jeff Gordon...

I agree, these drivers were the class of the field during the entirety of the season.

''We need to do something to drive the viewership up,'' said Johnson, who supports heat races capped by a final A main-style race slotted into a television window.
''Maybe we qualify on Saturday and that's televised, and then run some heat races and a feature on Sunday, in a four-hour time window,'' he said. ''It sticks to our roots, sticks with what we've always had and done, gives some natural pauses for the show for the social element at the track. I think that would be a pretty entertaining format.''

And a great idea. It is all about viewership and attendance, money. Plain and simple, NASCAR is a big money sport and without millions of fans watching and buying tickets, NASCAR withers.

Hey All,

No argument from me. I think this chase format needs some work but the idea of a "post season" I think is absolutely sound. Grandpa's way just can't cut it in this day and age.
