Joystick problem

For those interested, it appears that the «new and improved» Windows 7 has the same issues with recognizing joystick with CFS1.:kilroy:

BTW- Have you seen this TV commercial where a girl say, in substance; «I had an idea; how about making an OS that I would not have to worry about crashing and freezes? Windows 7 is my idea...bla...bla...». Couldn't believe my ears!:mixedsmi:

It's a bit like Ford saying; «Buy our new Mustang. This one won't be a gas guzzler and a lemon rusting from everywhere, promise!»

I'm no PR specialist, but this ad campaign sucks!:monkies:

I just tried CFS 1 in windows 7,same deal on the joystick,so I copied the cfg file above and edited mine replacing the joystick name with logitech.....success!:USA-flag:.

Included is a copy of the cfg.change the txt to cfg
OK, I will try it-------

:OK I tried editing the file, but when I went to close it, the computer said that the file already exists and that it could not change it------------what am I doing wrong???? its just running me around in circles--

Thank you Radioman! Your new CFS file did the trick. Well done sir!

It is nice to see a happy fellow back on the saddle:applause:!!!

Good work Radioman123, you probably did more to keep CFS1 alive than I ever did, and I think I did my fare share.

So, as a CFS1 DieHard, let me thank you as well!:applause:

Thanks to help from this webpage, I got my old Combat Flight Similator 1 working with my Thrustmaster Fox Pro 2 joystick on my new Windows 7 64 bit system. Something I didn't think would ever work.:monkies::salute:

Not giving up...

I was hopeful...but when I right click to save the file, it opens with a blank window. What am I doing wrong? What exactly do I do with the attachment? Save over the installed version? I have Vista HP and a Saitek ST 290 Pro stick. More help please, this is my favorite game.
