Ju188 anywhere?

Has anyone other than Ted ever worked on a Ju188 as used in Operation Steinbock? We Have an "ai_TOW_JU388as188" from Ted but this in fact is a 100% night fighter with a m3d which includes all the NF guns meaning I can't pretend it's a bomber and nowhere for bombs. It doesn't have cockpit m3d files but probably an 88 'pit would work.

I have a CFS2 / FS9 model of a Ju-188E bomber made by Krzystof Malinowski and Jay McDaniel. Don't know if it can be converted to CFS3. But if you want it, send me a PM and I'll do my best to get it to you.

Regards, hertzie.

Interestingly I believe they converted the cfs3 sdk ju88 gmax model into their ju-188 model

Yes.

Junkers Ju 188 E by K. Malinowski and J. McDaniel. Based on stock CFS3 visual model. Many animated features, custom textures, custom flight model and damage profile, breaking parts. Full-featured panel with bombsight and alternate views. Includes a stunning new German weapons pack for CFS2 v1.0 By Sergio Dolcemascolo.

Flies also quite well in FS9. No idea where or when I got it, hope I can find the download somewhere in my dungeons.

So i am assuming that I have to work with something like ModelConverterX_180 to change this to a CFS3 model; going to be interesting with my limited skills.... :p :dizzy::banghead:

OK , so I have the K. Malinowski/J. McDaniel Ju 188E CFS2 model loaded successfully in ModelConverterX. Animations, bomb-bay doors, gear, props, etc. all work in the original MDL. DAE export preserves geometry but appears to lose animations. Has anyone successfully converted an animated CFS2/FS9 MDL into a CFS3 M3D, and if so what toolchain was used? At the moment thst's as far as I casn get without more info from someone.

M,
Unfortunately you can't export to m3d with MCX, in both the model and animations. The only way is to export from MCX or Blender et al, as a 3ds file, which will lose all ani's, then take that into Gmax, re-animate it and then export as a CFS3 m3d file. Unfortunate we lost good ol' Ted our CFS3 guru, I don't work in Gmax, so unfortunately can't help.

So it's either a steep Gmax learning curve, or there are a few others (I won't name names as they might not want the work ;)) who might help?

Cheers
