Just Flight F4F Wildcat

Since the vision is so restrictive it is useless for carrier ops the reason for me getting it, the nose over on catching a wire can easily be fixed, finding the carrier is the major problem with all those 2 ft wide glazing bars so its back to the old FDG donation ware Martlet.

I hate VC's, hate it even more if there is no work around

Open the canopy, side slip it during the approach like the real pilots did. Wildcat was known for it's restrictive vision. And get a TrackIR, life will be much better! I can't imagine flying without a VC.........?

Have you tried cycling through the VC views? There's a 2D "flying panel, a "straight ahead" out through the screen view and others. Externally there's an "approach" view down the side of the fuse looking forward there's a tail view looking forward.

As a last resort in 2D mode, hit your Shift/1 key and have a clear vision of the target.

If none of that is any good for you, blame the aeroplane. We have pilots who flew these for real as customers and they don't have any complaints.

I agree. Flight sim is a simulator so it simulates much of the reality of flying - including the hard bits!!

There are loads of "arcade games" if you want an easy life.

LOL You can also use the view shift options in the vc by using a combination of right control key or right shift key and the return key and backspace keys - sorry but i dont have fsx open at the moment to tell you which combination gives you a higher view point (virtual pillows!!).

Hi,

Its Cntrl+Backspace for down,
Cntrl+Enter for up.

Gajit do you think you would be able to do a Wildcat repaint for me?:wavey:

Hi SADT

Happy to take a look - depends on the scheme as the paintkit is not the most userfriendly. Which one?

Hi Gajit,

Do you think you could do a Spitfire style RAF camo with and without Overlord stripes?

I could but im not sure how different it would look to the Martletts included in the pack.

Perhaps someone else will do it for you. :salute:

Hole thru floor

I have the Pack B and have two areas of the floor I can see the ground thru. They are aft of the rudder pedals just forward of the seat edge. Anyone else seeing these. I have flown at least three of the planes and they all have them. Plane flies great and no other apparent problems.

Tom

They are observation windows in the cockpit floor. Check the exterior, you will see them there.

Easy to make a comment like that if you dont know. I recently moaned that there is no throttle on the Rise of Flight DH2 only to be told off as there never was one on the real thing!!

Ahh yes, "blipping". Makes you realise how advanced aeroplanes like the SE5a were in their day with full control over throttle and mixture and a magneto crank that could start a healthy engine without swinging the prop.
