Just Flight Widgeon Question

falcon409

SOH-CM-2025
Does anyone have this airplane? If so, what are the black rectangles for? They don't appear on the textures so there's no way I've found to eliminate them.

It looks like MS's registration block, but without a registration in it. I think you can change the font or color in the aircraft.cfg file (ATC_ID= or something?)

Actually, I can't find where to adjust the color or font, but I know it was somewhere. Couldn't find it in aircraft.cfg or FSX.cfg, though.

I have the Just Flight Widgeon but my model looks perfectly fine, no black rectangles!

Must be something in your FSX setup that is causing it.

Fixed. . .I went to the Just Flight Website to leave a support message and found two updates I didn't know existed. One for improved wheels and one to fix the black boxes.

Thanks Guys!:salute:

The only problem that I've had with mine is a tendency for the engines to shut down when at idle. You have to keep the RPM's up over 1000. This is a great little plane for a portover and I fly it a lot in PNW and Tongass...

Yep, I've noticed the engine shutdown as well. Probably a way to correct that in the aircraft.cfg file, but I won't be messin' with that, lol.

Yes the aircraft.cfg file can be changed quite easily to eliminate the idle problem. Go to the section titled [piston_engine] and find the following line (should be at the end of the section)

idle_rpm_friction_scalar=1.0

Change the 1.0 to 0.90 and you should have a fine idling aircraft.
