Just flying around

I don't really get much time to fly in CFS2,I'm always working on something. Now I've decided it's about time to kick back and fly some missions and campaigns. My Favs are DOA and AF=Midway.I haven't even done Pen32Win's Fast Carrier Raid yet so that's on the agenda also.

OT
I've also spent much of the last week working on my model railroad and some of it is ready for some scenery.I just need to finish 2 buildings and the city is done. After that I will finish the Industries.

Al,

Post of photo of the railroad. They can get to be quite a fixation and hobby. Half of my father in law's basement is an HO scale railroad set in Bavaria.

Don't forget to build a few railroads in CFS 2. Then you can bomb 'em!

Dave

Mine is n gauge which is half the size of HO.I'm doing the Southern Pacific in the transition period from steam to diesel.I have 2 nice passenger trains including the Daylight one of the most beautiful trains.Layout size is only 6' x 8' but the mainline is about 40'.

I'll start taking some pics when I get a section done with the scenery.

Wonderful :jump: can't wait to see them. It's been a long time all my train [HO] is in box's in the basement it has been on of those "around to it deals". I should get on with it not getting any younger :icon_lol:

Every so often I have to take a break and just fly. Normandie-Niemen is my favorite, with Corpo Aereo Italiano a close second.

Hi all,
I miss my model railway.I still have it but since we moved it is only in boxes.Nowhere to lay it out in the new house. It was laid out in the attic of my old house.22ft x 18ft square room.Had 3ft boards running around 3 sides and 4ft at on end.One day when we move again I will make sure there is room for it.Till then it all remains boxed.
It was based on a fictional junction in the 1930's where all 4 British regions met.

Talon, I did the same thing for a while. Flew around the world once. With the new fueling add-on to any airbases, it makes it quite doable. Or, when I needed to "cheat", I would land at a base, shut down, sleep overnight, and start there the next day, all fueled up!:costumes:

Al ... I'd love to see your model railroad. Trains (especially steam) have been my other passion ... all my life. It was so bad that when I was a little kid (5 -7 years old), if it was time to eat and mom couldn't find me ... she would call Alex (the local station agent) and ask ... if Billy's there, would you send him home? (I live in a very small time and that was another century ago when things were VERY different).

So if it flys ... floats ... or runs on rails ... please count me in!

Hi Al,

I just finished running through Pen's Fast Carrier Raids. Just started on you Coral Sea Packs. Some times you just have to stop working on this Sim and sit back and enjoy it.

Would love to see some pics of your Model RR. N scale has come a long way. Mine is in a holding mode right now. More of a work bench than Model RR right now.

Regards,

I agree with Talon. I just realized that I spend most my time in CFS2 adding, subtracting, modifying or trying to get imported aircraft or scenery to work that I seldom just fly, missions or other wise:redf:. So..just today I was flying the DH Tiger Moth around the Scapa Flow area just sight seeing. I quite enjoyed the time.

Also I am currently scratch building a 1/32nd scale Airco DH 2. And as fighting sail is my other passion, I been working on a model of the HMS Victory for about two years.

Sailing as you know is a passion of mine and after the Holidays I plan on going on a little cruise. It's a nice way to relax:ernae:.
