Just scared myself

The Shuttle Discovery flew over my house, and I had not heard a sonic boom in about 4 years. I thought a car hit my house(because I have heard that more recently), and I went running outside in a panic. But something weird, I live 75 miles away, and the decent goes directly over my house, and yet I heard the sonic boom 2 minutes after Nasa reported it landed. weird.

Its awesome how that all works. That thing is doing 15,000 MPH when it hits Atmo. Who knows how fast it was going when it was 75 miles out of threshold.
