Guess you talked her into leaving her ax at home, LOL.

Hiede,

Very well played, I didn't draw those two together. :costumed-smiley-034 That's a bit ironic considering that I lived in Fall River for a few years in my late teens and early twenties, and took a whack at visiting that house several times.

They've actually turned it into a Bed and Breakfast, and I've proposed in the past that my wife and I spend the night there. It is a legitimate tourist and historical attraction. She doesn't seem too thrilled with the idea, I guess she questions my motives.

Maybe your overlooked a single type? Anyway, that's gonna be a HUGE download. Boy, I'm looking forward to that. :jump: :jump:

But what an undertaking you have been doing this time. Thank you to you and the whole team for doing these wonders.

Thoughts and prayers for you from me and Lindsay.

I'm at a loss what to say that hasn't been said already, plus words are hard to come and seem inadequate in these situations. But you will stay in my thoughts and prayers until you come through this.

As us Limeys say 'stiff upper lip, my good man.'

Fairwinds old friend,
Jamie.

PS. Just noticed this post from days ago didn't 'take', so reloaded the autosave, I know your home now and the situation has changed.

Hiede,

No, I'm definitely not the "yes, dear" type. Being Type A and OCD, I'm a neat freak and usually have things like dishes, vacuuming, laundry, and other stuff done before it even becomes a problem, and now our kids are old enough that the load of running the house is starting to be handed over to them.

We clash frequently over the kids, my pushing myself too hard, and other issues, but she knows I speak my mind and don't hold back. I know it chafes her sometimes, but she's said a number of times that she respects me because I have a spine, don't back down from my convictions, and always have her back no matter what. I also do whatever I have to do to take care of her, our kids, and my mom.

She just thinks I spend too much time on this damn game, can't fault her for that. But in her words, it ain't drinking, gambling, or smoking. But she does roll her eyes when she walks into my study and sees me with a joystick in my hand, and literally leaning 45 degrees in my desk chair without even realizing I'm doing it. :costumed-smiley-034

It ain't CFS2, but rather FS9 and FSX - but mine says she knows exactly where I am and am always available for anything she's got going. No need to ring Moe's Tavern to find me. Her pet peeve is knowing her biggest rival for my affections is a group of inanimate objects - she still has a little trouble understanding that.

So you children are your child labor? :mixed-smiley-010: :mixed-smiley-010:

Hiede,

My wife and I are teaching them to be responsible adults when they grow up and to pitch in and help because it's their obligation as part of the family, not because they're being paid or getting something for it. (Other than clothes on their back, food on their plates, a safe, warm home with a roof over their head, and two loving parents) Part of being a family means sharing the load, and learning how to carry your own weight. We're starting to or going to be teaching our kids how to cook for themselves, how to clean up after themselves, to do their own laundry, and do basic car and home repairs, so when they leave home and fend for themselves, they'll have the skills and know-how to be self-sufficient. My parents did the same thing to me, and my wife's parents are similar.

Think of it like how Talon ran the boat...if you're on board, you help. No one gets a free ride.

No Dice,

My leg is doing significantly better, thank you. The wounds are far less painful, draining less, and the skin surrounding them is healing up nicely. The ulcers have even shrunk somewhat. That being said, there still is no long-term cure; this is a condition that can be managed, but will always be a balancing act. I've been home since I was in the hospital, and the true test regarding how my leg responds will be on Friday when I go back to work.

I am taking every precaution to keep the stress on my leg to a minimum, but I also refuse to be the bed-ridden grandparents of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

With regard to your other concern, no worries. I did the GSL town of Sedan, France tonight and sent it off to the BoB / BoF team, so we're still plugging away there. :very_drunk:

Rami,

Guess you don't realize when someone is pulling your leg.Oh wait I mean joking with you. LOL

Thanks for the update on your health Rami.

Glad things are better and pray you can continue your teaching without too much difficulty.

Your family must be a great asset to you--standing alongside with all this going on.

Good evening,

I wanted to pass along an update to all of you. For the time being, my leg continues to be stable, if not improving somewhat. The wounds are shallowing, and look as well as they have in months. I continue to see a nutritionist in Boston, and am still working on losing weight.

Because the risk of severe complications is very high, including a high likelihood of failure and/or additional surgery, the thought of amputation has been tabled for now. I want to be aggressive treating this, but certainly not reckless or foolish. We are working on contacting research hospitals throughout the United States (The Cleveland Clinic, the Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, etc.) to see what options there are that may not have been considered, or could be attempted, given the complicated set of issues I have.

Despite this uncertainty on how to improve my condition, I am adapting fairly well to teaching in a wheelchair, and my wife, children, mother, and my faith continue to be a major source of strength, as well as levity. I am also now seeing a therapist who has training and expertise in working with people who suffer with chronic pain. This has also been very helpful.

Easter was very pleasant and pretty low-key...lots of leftovers to enjoy. My kids loved their Easter baskets we made for them and the egg hunt in the backyard. No real "downers" on this post...I am simply enjoying the crest of this wave for as long as it lasts. :encouragement:
