'Just Watched Mark Hamill In...'

<DL><DD>
Johnson: Would you look at how fast they put the names of all our guys who got killed?
The Sergeant: That's a World War One memorial.
Johnson: But the names are the same.
The Sergeant: They always are.

.....Brilliant film. Particulary the circularity of the opening and closing scenes. One of the best, I think.

Yes and the scene where o'l sarge got shot was somewhat of a re-creation of the real-life shooting of USMC Sniper Lee Marvin....:medals:

also intresting and somewhat ironic was the use of Israeli Super Shermans (Isherman) as German tanks...

i guess the movie must have been filmed at least partially in Israel.

I watched it as a kid, AFAIK it was filmed between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, been myself a HUGE, major, Star Wars fan, i had to watch it..well..it was kinda strange watching Luke Skywalker in WW2, so it was a big dissapointment for me..watched many years later, the same feeling, then after Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers (the pacific as well), i can´t watch ww2 films anymore..unless they are at the same level of realism

Best regards
