KC Flight Shop Republic RC-3 SeaBee Now Released! (Payware)

I have been testing the Seabee with RealEngine v1.2 freeware gauge (on these forums).

Am still going through testing and adjustment (adjustment occurs because of slight differences eg HP and MP in the plane's gauge and RealEngine's gauge) I had collated the actual numbers well before in anticipation!

Is it OK for me to post my settings once I am satisfied?

Oleboy's first paint and Jankees "Bird" paint are just awesome (in particular) - thanks guys.

Kevin, very very well done she is a beauty. Love your P38 and love this too.

Bstolle - your flight model makes the bird feel organic and smooth at the same time you must fly it carefully especially on takeoff and landings. Feels real thanks to you!

Wow, what a great add-on!! Took me by suprise. I didn't even notice one of these was being created. The model, sounds, and "feel" while in flight are top notch!

Quick question; How do I add some glass shine to the exterior glass? I am pretty savvy with PS, but am not sure which file to add an alpha layer too.

Thanks for the great aircraft!

Please do! Also if you dont mind, maybe I can incorporate them in a patch to help people out with the same gauges.

I would be honoured. Am putting numbers into an expanded spreadsheet (rather than my usual one) now to aid you with your purpose ( I find this fun believe it or not )

Give me a day or 2 of testing. I will PM it to you.

Thanks again for a plane of such quality. It is a lot of fun.

For all waiting, my repaints just hit the library and are available :wavey:
Downloaded your Navy Livery OleBoy. I had done that one for the PAD Seabee and so I was glad to see you chose that as one to do for this beauty. Much Appreciated!!:applause:

Gibbage, I tried modifying the glass_T file to add some shine effects to the exterior glass but nothing happened.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Yes Sir! The owner of that SeaBee has also been here to have a peek at my work. He was pretty impressed. I was pretty surprised when he contacted me via PM :icon_lol:

I think the glass shine is part of the material and not the texture. If it is, then the user cant edit it.

It turns out there was an error in my VH-WET repaint as it was available on OZx.
You can cure it yourself by opening the 'body_02.dds' file in DXTbmp, flipping it vertically and saving again, or by downloading the new version that I have uploaded on Ozx.
Sorry about the mix-up,

Jan Kees

Just got an E-mail from a Seabee owner saying that yes, it is possible, and also Beavers do it! Would think its rather harry for a heaver to do it with its high cog!

If you want to read more on Kenmore, there is this book. http://www.amazon.com/Success-Step-...0009/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327881240&sr=8-1

Easy... (Okay. It is from snow covered ice)

Even Amphibs do it... :icon_lol:

What a great little water baby! After turning off my crazy Norton A/V app for a few minutes, I was able to get 'er down and installed effortlessly. And the timing of the release was perfect. I had just finished installing Chris Carel's massive Land's End Sea Base series and was in need of this gal.

As usual, from my fs9 days, I couldn't resist Shockwaving 'er:icon_lol: In the process I think I have a good solution for the interior lights. I also continued my "overkill" approach by adding some strobes and a landing light. Actuually, the landing light is not over the top as I saw several planes on the Internet with one and sometines two landing lights -- I assume after market add-ons. Anyway, if ya don't light them, just "//" 'em out.

Now, where did I put that blasted paddle?

edit: Oops I forgot to include my changes.

Add to the Aircraft.cfg:

[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit
light.0 = 4, 3.90, -1.00, 1.60, fx_vclight_Red
//light.1 = 4, 3.90, 1.00, 1.60, fx_vclight_Red
light.2 = 1, -15.00, 0.00, 8.55, fx_padbeaconh
light.3 = 3, 0.90, -18.85, 3.50, fx_shockwave_navred_nl
light.4 = 3, 0.90, 18.85, 3.50, fx_shockwave_navgre_nl
light.5 = 2, 0.90, -18.85, 3.50, fx_shockwave_strobe_nl
light.6 = 2, 0.90, 18.85, 3.50, fx_shockwave_strobe_nl_3
light.7 = 5, 3.40, -17.10, 3.40, fx_shockwave_landing_light_tail_old

Just set down outside of Norman's Cay in the Bahamas and when I dropped the anchor a strange thing happen. I got this furious smoke venting from the front of the plane like I had landed on an undersea thermal vent or something. The only way to extinguish it was to pull up the anchor. Any ideas what this is all about?

This Seabee doesn't like the frozen lakes for landing wheels up! Wonky forward roll and dive. Had to try it though!

Cheers

Another user reported the same thing on our forum. We will look into fixing this and a few other small problems in a patch later on, so please keep us informed on any problems you may find! It helps us make it a better product!

I will ask Chuck if this is a feature we can support. After finding the pic of the Seabee landing in snow, it makes me want to try it!

DX10 Compliant?

Noticed that sometimes I get just a ghost of the fuselage. Wondering if it is a graphics card problem or a DX10 issue. Guess I could just turn it off and see.

I used dx10 exclusively throughout making and testing the Seabee and never once saw ghosting. None of our testers reported it. What video card do you run, and do you see this only on the Seabee?
