Really happy this week, as we just hit a huge milestone! The Republic Seabee has been exported into FSX! Whoot! I spent a good portion of last weekend and this week so far working on the shaders (Normal, spec, reflection) before I posted any eye candy. Im really pleased with how its coming out, and the corigation is turning out extreamly well in normal maps! What your looking at is a 95% finished external model, and 80% finished texture/shader. I need to add a few things here and there, but overall this is a good preview of how its going to look!

What does everyone think so far? Any area's need fixing or needs improvement?

P.S. Screenshots taken using default FSX in DX10 mode and OrbX PNW.

Wow, that is some amazing work Kevin. You may have even won over some skeptics that thought this wouldn't be a popular airplane, lol. Well Done!!:applause:

Good reference link to the Seabee

Kevin ,
This looks absolutely beautiful and can hardly wait until completion . I'm sure you already referenced this link : http://www.seabee.info/seabee.htm but thought others might find it a good read . I knew little about the Republic Seabee and thought this was pretty good place to start . From what I've read so far the Seabee will take some practice on water landings . Does anyone know what the shortest distance(land) this aircraft can safely make ? As someone has mentioned above , this would a great addition to the PNW area .

Thanks again , looking forward to it

I can ask the pilot. I have contact with a few pilots around the area! The thing with the Seabee is there have been extensive modifications since it first started flying. Like more powerfull engines, 3 foot wing extentions, and down turned wings to give it much better handling qualities. From all indication, the original Franklin 215HP engine was a dog, and "fly's like a dump truck". I hope to capture that aspect well. If your not too keen on flying like a dump truck, then take the Lycoming 295HP model that will be a bit more spirited. =)

No problem for me to capture that.... if you can provide enough info from RW Seabee pilots :)

I already spoke with quite a few, and they are itching to work with us! One thing I found is Seabee pilots/owners are very friendly and really want to share there love for this bird!!!

I have a feeling this is going to be a darling of many a post in the screenshot thread, and rightly so.
