• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Keep getting redirected to 404 Page!

Why is it that when I'm logged in I get constantly redirected to a 404 page?

Is there a software problem somewhere?

I'm sure I'm not the only one with the problem and it has been dealt with before but it is very hard - and annoying - to have to go back to previous page and iimediatley stop the browser before it redirects me to 404 again.

It's happened on and off for me...sometimes it's a 404 error and occasionally it's something else with a filepath listed...I'll screencap it if it happens again.
 
A 404 error is "page not found". This usually translates to a broken link, but has also happened to some users in the past when coming into the main front page of the site after logging in.

If it happens only when you log into the site, it is possible that your cookie for SOH is corrupt or your browser security settings are too high (not allowing the cookie to be accepted properly).
Try logging out, cleaning out all your temp internet files and cookies, close your browser and open it again, then try logging back in. If that doesn't help we'll see if we can help track down the problem
