Alternative prop textures and dp files for TangoRomeo's A-26 Invader series uploaded!

A good day to everybody!:wavey:

I just uploaded alternative 3-blade propeller texture for Tom Sanford's, a.k.a. Tango_Romeo, Douglas A/B-26 Invader models, all available at:

http://www.simviation.com

There are two sets of textures to choose from: a plain texture with prop blade and blurred disc showing no prop manufacturer logos or stencils and one with all the works. Since in this model the propeller blade texture is mirrored, anything shows up on both sides of the propeller still blade and/or blurred texture. Someone might not like this, so I decided to include a set of plain textures.

Included are dp files for each model, where I replaced stock USAAF rockets and pylons with Dbolt's US enhanced weapon pack v.2.0a version. I also replaced the bombs with Dbolt's 'fb' models: "... best suited for bombers, as they are less detailed and a little smaller to be best fitted inside the bomb bays." as per Dbolt's readme instructions.

Enjoy!

Korean War early jet effects and alternative dp files uploaded!

One last upload for tonight!

Alternative damage profile (*.dp) files for the most common Korean War early jets created and distributed by the Fox Four group with their CFS2 Korean War CFS2 addon package, plus two other authors.

The aircrafts covered are the following:

  • Fox4/Tom Sanford's, a.k.a. Tango_Romeo, F-86A, F-86E, F86H Sabre, all versions old and new, including his RAAF CA-27

  • Fox4's F9F-2 Panther

  • Fox4's MiG15 Fagot

  • Oldliner52's, J-P. Bourgeois' and B.M. Dubé Langer's MiG15, converted for CFS2, and recently repainted, by Morten Krogstad, a.k.a Morton, and available here at SOH.

This pack contains jet exhaust flame and smoke effects I put together from single effects found in well over 8 years of downloads for CFS2.
In each Allied aircraft dp file I replaced stock weapons with Dbolt's US enhanced weapons v.2.0a. In the two MiGs I replaced stock weapons with Thicko's Il-10 Russian 100/250kg FAB bombs and wing pylons. The visual effect with these payloads hanging from wings and/or fuselages is greatly enhanced.

Enjoy!

Prop & engine texture, plus GG-style exh effect for TR's Skyraider series!

Hi everybody!

I just uploaded alternative 4-blade propeller textures for Tom Sanford's, a.k.a. TANGO_ROMEO, Douglas AD Skyraider series available at:

http://www.simviation.com

Since Sopwith Chameleon created a rich collection of repaints for this aircraft, spanning the Skyraider very long service life from the Korean War to the VietNam conflict, I did three prop textures according to which period SC dressed TR's Skyraiders.

In the following folders you will find:

a) \prop.KoW --------------> during the 1950's throughout the Korean war most of Navy-operated Skyraiders had their blade tips painted with a red-white-blue, the colours of the U.S. flag, stripe safety pattern;

b) \prop.Navy1960s -----> after Korea, during the 1960's throughout the Vietnam war, Navy/Marines piston engined aircrafts wearing the light grey/white livery, had their prop blade tips painted with a white-red-white stripe safety pattern;

c) \prop.VNam_camo----> during the Vietnam war, ground-based camouflaged Skyraiders had the standard safety yellow-tipped propeller blades.

Colin Glendinning's/Tom Sanford's KoW Royal Navy AEW-1 Skyraider, available at CG's Shipyard: http://www.simviation.com/lair/cfs2shipyard.htm

wears also the standard yellow-tipped propeller you will find in the \prop.VNam_camo folder.

Also included:

- a texture file of a real Wright Cyclone engine, taken from Wolfi's SB2C Helldiver. It will fit any of TR's Skyraider versions, including the above mentioned KoW Royal Navy AEW-1 Skyraider;

- a Green Ghost-style DAP gauge-controlled exhaust effect. This effect will fit any of TR's Skyraider versions, again including the AEW-1 Skyraider.

I wish I could attach some previews here but the below "Manage Attachments" window is inactive in my pc.

Enjoy!

336th FIS & Hinton's repaints for new TR's F-86A uploaded!

A good day to everybody! :wavey:

I just uploaded adapted fuselage repaints for Tom Sanford's, a.k.a. TANGO_ROMEO, North American Aviation F-86A Sabre available at:

http://www.simviation.com

This repaint has a long story. SOH's member Robert McGee, a.k.a. BUB, did all of the repaints for TR's Sabre series apart from a couple of skins done by SOH's member Oldwheat.
I am talking about 4th Fighter Interceptor Wing (F.I.W.) black and white distinctive stripes. 4th FIW was the very first Sabre unit rushed to the Kimpo forward base, Korea in December of 1950, when the MiG threat became a sobering reality.

4th FIW, 336th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (F.I.S.) Commander Lt. Col. Bruce Hinton, in the afternoon of Dec. 17th, 1950, scored the first Sabre kill of a North Korean MiG15 over Sinuiju, near the Yalu river.

Oldwheat painted a couple of years ago Lt. Col. Hinton's FU-236, F-86A livery for TR's old Sabre versions. As a matter of fact, the skin went on top of TR's F-86E, the only CFS2-dedicated Sabre version then available.

Ever since TR recently released his F-86A version, Bub endowed us with a splendid aluminum texture pack, portraying 4th FIW, 334th FIS, F-86A Sabres flown by pilots Becker and Jabara, all available at www.simviation.com. I only thought to graft Hinton's personal blue nose and serial numbers, painted by Oldwheat, on Bub's wonderful Becker and Jabara Sabres skin, wearing the very same black and white 4th FIW stripes.

Since Oldwheat also painted 336th FIS FU-225 Sabre, flown during the same period, I thought to do the same job as well.

This pack contains just the fuselage repaints for both FU-236 and FU-225, you will find every other necessary texture file in Bub's Becker and Jabara F-86A repaints.

All credits for the original FU-236 and FU-225 repaints must go to Bub and Oldwheat. They did 99.9% of the job and I only did 0.1%!

I wish I could attach some previews, but in my pc the "Manage Attachments" window below is completely inactive.

Enjoy!

To all,

Kelti has uploaded multiple exhaust effects for Korean-era jets, the A-26 Invader, the Dewoitine D-520, the Skyraider, and even skins for Tango_Romeo's F-86 Sabre. Thank you for all of these outstanding works of art!

It's just easier to combine these threads, my friend...

Hi Maxstuka!

I am sorry but I am not a repainter. I wouldn't even know where to start.

Get in touch with Sopwith Chameleon, he did all Tango Romeo's A-26 Invader repaints. I am sure he has an A-26 all metal plain texture already for you.

Cheers!
