Keroman

The V4's powerplants are Bramo-Fafnir BMW 323Rs, w/ 900hp each.

No problem getting all six to turn. But, thanks to MS, only real down side is starting them. Since CFS3 only allows four separate engines, when you start, two 'pairs' start at the same time. (Hehe, close yer eyes for a second, and you'll never know the dif.)

Just a side note on the 222's. Just like this one is the 'V4'...the V means experimental, prototype, or however you want to put it. Out of 14-15 different 'V' versions of the Bv222s made, there was only ONE of each made.

For each version, the final (production) version was tried to be chosen.

Anyway...enough of that.

An' I see ya has all six props turnin' merrily away... what are they bein' twisted by... BMW 132's?

This I do know - Jumo 207s - 2-stroke diesels. In the later examples at least, such as the aircraft tested by Eric Brown. He also said the controls were almost alarmingly light, being servo-assisted.

From all my info...

V1-V6 and V8 were fitted with BMW 323Rs.
V7 was fitted with Jumo 207Cs (diesel)
V9 and later, supposily five were completed...Jumo 207Ds (diesel) (one of these are what Brown probably flew)

Only building one. Of all of 'em, V4 had the most history, and wartime life.
She was sunk by her own crew, close to the end of the war.

Yeah, I hear that. Blasted stuff is just time-consuming.

For grins, heres a peek at the V4s main turret (so far). Gonna be a pain just to build the dome's framework, but it'll work out.

To answer popsaka's question...there is a crawlway through the wings, to get the gunners to the wing-mounted turrets. A few slight differences between the upper turret, and the wing mounted. Main dif is the 20mm cannon for the wing versions are short-barreled, over the long-barrel shown.

Fuel tank is kinda wild, too. It's a 2,000 gallon tube, that's also part of the wing's main spar!

2 stroke diesels... Now those puppies musta had a really strange sound... especially under load!

Found it in Google Earth - there are about half-a-dozen places called Keroman... Interesting. You don't realise how huge it is.

Crossram that looks amazingly like the spruce goose that Starspeeder was working on. Is this a different aircraft, or the same model turned into the V222?

It is pure chance that both a/c look the same.

Just the nature of the beast.

The V4 is totally my work.
(Hehe, with a bunch of cattle-proddin' from Eddie!!!) :173go1:

'Keroman' was, and is, a fairly large complex.
During the war, is was considered THE largest submarine base around.

I'm only building the main part of it, around the bunkers themselves...maybe half of the actual complex, since there's more docks, a drydock, etc. not there.

To make it all, much of the shorelines in there would need to be re-done.

At least you'll get alot more than the stock half-size bunker.
