KI43 panel help

trucker

charter member past
In 2d panel view when facing forward it's very sluggish when moving to other view points. If I am looking anyway but forward it's fine....only when I look forward and jump to a different view does it slow down. I have the B24 guys OH oscar.

Anyone have an idea what I can do?

Ki 43 Panel

Here's the fix:

1. Go to your Ki 43 Panel folder and open the panel.cfg file

2. Edit in the indicated line below and you should not only speed up your hat switch response, but also see your Shift-Z info through the frame of the canopy:

[Window00]
file=voscar_640.BMP
file_1024=voscar_1024.BMP
size_mm=640,480
window_size_ratio=1.00
position=4
visible=1
ident=MAIN_PANEL
window_size= 1.000, 1.000
window_pos= 0.000, 0.000
render_3d_window=1 ;<<<---Edit in this line. I use it in all my 2d panels.

Its a 2D to 3D viewing bug in the sim. When you fly in 2D view looking forward, looking in any other direction automatically takes you into 3D mode for those directions without you realizing it. Going back to front view puts you back in 2D. That's what the line in Jagd's tip fixes.

The downside to this is that if you had any clickable gauges in the 2D panel that are vintage FS98 types, they will loose their mouseability. They have to be replaced with CFS, CFS2 or FS2000 replicas.

Trucker,

Yes, I do as I like to be able to bring up my Shift-Z info (latitude-longitude-G Force, frame rates, etc.) and see it through the canopy frame. I mostly use key strokes to operate all of my mixture, prop settings, cooling gills and what not, and only rarely use a mousable cockpit.
