Not forgotten here in Chicagoland either. The VFW were out "in force" yesterday collecting donations for wounded veterans, and distributing "Forget Me Not" blue poppies...
Although I didn't see them myself, I know that the American Legion were likewise present and accounted for... :salute:
Thanks for the HU on that blog P, my father and 2 uncles served with the UN "Peace Keeping" force in Korea, my dad died in 59 and I never really got to know him, but I have some great pics and stories of his time serving in that "conflict".
The term "Forgotten" was given to the Korean Conflict (was never technically considered a war) because WWII and Vietnam got all the news.
If you ever visit the Korean Monument in D.C. you can see this reflected in the statues of the soldiers. It is like they are ghosts or shapes. Very little detail on the faces of the men. I found it eerie.
