Been on an anti-sub dwelling of late and came across this for Imperial japan. Similar to the ju88 but smaller. Has anybody thought of modelling this one? was the first purpose-designed anti-submarine warfare aircraft in the world. I do know there was a cfs 2 version made a while back.

...from the spec's she looks kinda 'low 'n slow'. Cool fer an oddball. If it 1st flew in '43 then things were already getting too dicey for the Japs to develop it. (methinks) :mixedsmi:

Hi D,
Yes there was one for CFS2. Not a bad model, but dates from 2002.

As far as use, I think it was as P says, and it was shot out of the sky. Then was used mainly in home waters just off-shore.

If you wanted to 'cheat', you could put a Japanese skin on a Ju88a17 (without gondola), with a modded airfile, and use that(?)

I think CFS3 has the A17 variant?

It was Kristof's port over from CFS3 to CFS2.

Here's a very rough splash of paint on the A17, close one eye and squint with the other and it might just look like a Lorna...;)

There was a great deal of assistance from German companies to Japanese, from Heinkel in particular, but also to a lesser extent from Junkers and even Daimler Benz. Whether this aircraft really does owe anything to Junkers I do not know, but it's a clear possibility.

Deleting the gondola would take a GMAX-er about ten minutes...

Some interesting skinning there!
