I've used a tool called "Large Address Aware," or LAA, for another sim I am running on this machine. The tool was recommended to use with this program (Silent Hunter IV) since it is a rather old program that needed improvements in its video display, and adding LAA to the system resulted in SH4's graphics becoming first-rate, in particular wave and spray animation, ship wakes, and sunlight effects on water.
I am wondering if somehow using LAA with FSX could result in any improvements in the sim's performance. Has anyone here ever tried to run FSX using LAA - or is it even necessary?
Forgot to include, I have 4.0GB of RAM, and a 64-bit system.
