Late Blue Drop Tanks mod by Allen!

Hi all,

I installed Allen's F6F-5 (Late) Hellcat, however, the light grey drop tank just doesn't look right. After combing through our library, I've come up empty. Just wondering if anyone's ever done a separate all blue tank?

Hey TW,

Blue Devil did one. Search for his stuff here at the OH using "Blue Devil" for the username and it should come up. If not, let me know and I will send it to you.

Edit: msfossey, the tank you referred to is a tri-color tank for the Corsair from DBolt's weapons, but thanks for your response.
 
The F6F-5's often flew with the white tanks as that was what was in the supply chain. I wouldn't worry about it. It could have changed any time a tank got dropped anyway.

However if it is truly bugging you, here's a quick fix. Just drop it into your weapons/texture folder

I guess I should have thought of this but an easy fix. Download the Late_Blue_Drop_tanks.zip and edit the DP to add _blue to the end of the drop tank for the F6F-5 (Late). So that wep_us_hellcat_drop_gp becomes wep_us_hellcat_drop_gp_blue

That won't really work. Only trading problems. I should have thought to make a blue set of drop tanks.

That's the way to go, Allen!

Creating new objects with new names together with textures mapped to such names. Otherwise, everytime droptanks are repainted to match a given livery historical period, all of the repaints that went with the previous colours do not match anymore.

This because CFS2 stockers share the same objects with the same name.

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Other Add-Ons

Description: These are edits of the stock US Drop Tanks to give them a blue texture. They use a new texture and name other than that they match the stock tanks to no editing of the DP mounts are nedded. They are made to match my F6F5 Helcat (late) that is all blue and includes a updated DP for it.
