Hi, guys. I tried installing the latest nvidia driver 296. whatever and during installation, my monitor, a hp w2207, goes to sleep. then thre is no vga input or signal. I constantly have to reboot the pc. Last driver update went fine but this one is new or causes the monitor to sleep. Any advice? thx.

When it comes to video drivers I follow the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" theory.

The drivers I'm using are the ones that came with the card when I installed it, they seem to work fine for me. I guess I don't do anything that tests the card to it's limits.

Have you tried the DVI-D linkage, (depending on your video card). I checked website >http://clink.com.au/about/faq.htm, and it says the HP W2207, has a multitude of input/outputs? Including speakers, microphone. etc. even USB. I haven't used VGA for years, and will never go back. I get brilliant colors and clarity after selecting (tweeking) the monitor side selection interface. And, yes I do few Nvidia updates. Still using 270.61 on a GE Force 9800 GT.
