'LCS-3 Launch'

Nope Stiz, they won't tip over. You would be suprised actually as to the amount of roll these Naval vessels can take. On my very first deployment we went into the North Atlantic from October until December. For those who are none Mariners this is the worst time to go up there. We were seeing huge swells, and the ship was pitching and rolling so much that water was coming over the flight deck, and into the break areas (on the left and right sides of the bridge).. There were actually points during these bad sea states the ships crew were checking the ships main mast on a constant basis because we were approaching the roll limit at which the main mast was supposed to break off into the ocean to stop the ship from capsizing. Needless to say I spent that whole stint in my rack, with a bucket, throwing up the whole transit from Jacksonville, FL to Greenock, Scottland.. I was so relieved to get off that thing when we got to Scottland. Was bad times though. I have pictures of the seas somewhere on the computer (taken by other people on my detachment since I was so sick).. Didn't fly at all during that whole transit as we were far out of limits for helicopter operations. Got a lot of flying in once we were in the channel and Med though.
