Nice!

Thank you!:applause:

Stefano,

And you don't think that's part of the plan?

Great work, Dombral! :very_drunk:

Just cooked a new panel for your rare addition....

It is a relatively accurate panel I did from an old line drawing I had...
The bmp is available via PM... needs a nice config file though....

Hi Gaucho,

this is not the first splendid 2d panel bitmap I've seen posted by you. Have you ever uploaded any of your bitmaps?

Cheers!

No... I have not... usually make them available via PM

In the first place... one needs to post a complete panel... I basically use my bitmaps with someone else's configs...
My forte is art... not technical knowledge...
I made an offer looooong time ago to collaborate with anyone to make good artistic quality 2D panels...
but no one seemed interested... those who show interest said they didn't have the technical abilities to do this...
(I really loath those VCs with exaggerated perspective errors... and really - in my modest opinion - less realistic
than a good 2D panel)... I can do the artwork on commission... {pop ups... control columns that disappear, etc.}
(ie: what the tech person wants) and then the tech person does the config for it... BUT NO ONE ever took up on
the offer... I get many people who ask me for my bitmaps... and I send them forth via email... and they are
happy with that... (also... nice to give them to people who want them)

Cheers Stefano... a risentirci...

PS: I am doing some nice repaints for the LeO 451 right now... which again I will make available via PM.

An example of my method of sharing....

In case you are interested... I am doing a little tutorial for Gius... who is very
interested in improving his repainting skills... We talk on Skype and I post
illustrations to his questions... on my long standing thread...

Re-working the Le O 45 textures....

:wavey:
Overall the repaint is coming along but encountering some vexing issues...
Hope to solve them and have a nice repaint... especially the underside... it
looks amenable to changes and should look quite convincing... as it is... it looks
too much like a cut-and-paste of very poor quality copies of a profile page...
To wit,

If anyone has suggestions... don't hesitate to make them known... they are appreciated
and a real help... might point me in the right direction...

For non-Spanish speaking folks that might render a hand with counsel: Everyone to whom I emailed the bmp for their use... is happy... except myself
The above is what it looks like in the sim for me... can't figure out the problem.... in the bmp the background is absolutely transparent black... yet
the shown artifacts still show... any suggestions?

Done some more work... but...

I think this project is a mission impossible.... The model needs a lot of
changes besides the loving care I am trying to give it...
It has no interior textures at... quiza tu' puedes idear alguna forma the
pasar esta valla....

Here is a little statement of what I have done... and can't do...

If anyone have any ideas or suggestions... I am all ears...
the aircraft is rare enough to merit some work... and I am all for doing it...

Cheers
G.

Some models are just a nightmare to repaint because the texture mapping was a rush job or was done to suit a single paint scheme that will not adapt to any other. For example a wing the uses a single texture for the top and bottom because the original model used a paint scheme that was silver over all, but 95% of the type were camouflaged. :mixed-smiley-027: C'est la vie. A painter can't fix stuff like that.

You got it...

Yes... it is unfortunate... I did a pretty good job with the Mercator... but it took contacting the author... who
sort of got fired up... and did all kinds of new textures for it... like inner bomb bay and landing gear doors...as
well as the respective bay interiors, etc. eventually the author did his own paint jobs... sort of rush jobs...
you can see the one I did for myself with the new textures in my thread...

This is a rare enough aircraft that would be worth that kind of effort... quel domage..

Keep me informed if you can and we might work out this old biplane... it looks like a quaint type...

I have just established contact with Nick (Jynx) and we might collaborate in posting my bmp work as completed panels...
Let's see what comes out of this... I hope we do get together...
Ciao for now Stefano
