Let's talk food...Christmas Dinner Food!

We are having a bunch of family and friends over. I don't know what we are having. I cook what I am told to cook, when I am told.

Actually, that is only partially true. :) I already have been told what to cook.

I do the turkey and rice dressing "dirty rice" (You should try it C9G it has ground up chicken liver and gizzards in it all mixed up with veggies in the rice) I also do an oyster dish that is served in special pastry cups.

My wife does the cranberry salad and sweet potatoes and yeast biscuits.

The day after the turkey remains become turkey and andouille (sausage) gumbo. I also do this pork and turnip dish.

I do get to eat lemon meringue pie for my birthday. The dear wife just left a few moments ago in the rain to pick it up at the bakery along with the pastry cups.

GT~ Your grandma's fruit salad recipe made my mouth water! I can't stomach any type of fruit cocktail unless its made of fresh fruit. Grandmas recipes are always the BEST!

Thanks C9G for that.... I'm glad it made your mouth water. It sure makes the ol tastebuds light up too.

And it's healthy... no fat, no cholesteral, and low on calories. LOL I've always been sworn to secrecy on it's contents and how to put it together...... but that might change soon. ;)
