There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.
If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.
Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Discussions on New Releases are usually a good thing . . . sometimes they get ridiculous and this happens. *************************************************************************************
Yes, because the demands and expectations of the consumer have changed. 2D panels were the norm and very few questioned why, then the VC concept became a reality and it was a keeper if you had a new release with a VC that had workable gauges. Then came the animation breakthroughs and if the VC wasn't fully animated. . .with working gauges it was somehow inadequate. So the progression, more and more and more details. Each detail needing coding to sometimes bypass shortcomings in the sims abilities. Then 3D gauges. . .it just wasn't worth having if you didn't have those cool 3D gauges. . .all requiring more code and more code. . .to the point that it started affecting the fps. Can't have that, not worthy of a purchase if it looks awesome, contains all the NEW innovations but drags the fps down from 40 to 30. . ."it kills my immersion factor". . .ad infinitum!!Ed, aircraft in FS are becoming more complex. We are getting closer to the original Microsoft slogan "As real as it gets". Gone are the days when you could just load an aircraft, hit CTRL+E and away you go.
Now with most new aircraft you need to spend an hour or so to **** before you can fly.
Yep, unfortunately the thread went south quickly, nothing useful was coming out of it and Bill had it closedShame about the previous thread. I depend on threads like these to formulate my opinion on whether to purchase. I don't pay much attention to people complaining about the small things, but I do enjoy sharing in the enthusiasm of those who are excited; those who can't wait to post some nice sreenshots. On second run threads, unfortunately that enthusiasm isn't quite the same. Also tips and discoveries get shared that are pretty darn useful.
In P3D I start in Free FlightMy procedure for setting up a c&d flight for any new addon is:
- load the default C172
- start the c172 using ctrl+e
- switch to new plane
- shut everything down
- save the flight
Always works for me.
Yes, the Lear24B, when released did not have reversers. Some were retro fitted which added a box that was affixed to the top of the glare shield and controlled the engines and reversers. As for the notch below idle on the throttle quadrant. . .no idea. Also, from what I gathered, this plane didn't have reversers, so what is the section of the throttle for below idle? While setting up my TQ in FSUIPC, I was mighty surprised to see me jump ahead like a rabbit when I pulled my TQ levers back fully.

As i already wrote, i tried several different procedures starting these 2 engines, but no luck. All i have is the turbines spooling ok, but when reaching 9 on the tacho, no start at all.
