I've read that somebody built a Retractable Gear Tailwind :isadizzy:
I heard this in Oshkosh Airventure 2009
Is that true ??? Anyone else knew ???
Is Bill willing to come out with that model ? (if it ever exists)

"From almost the minute the airplane was introduced in 1953. homebuilders began interpreting the design with their way of thinking. Originally.. this was limited to paint jobs and tail shapes, but by the late ‘60’s it became the basis for aerial hot rodding that sometimes reached the ridiculous. These mods included airplanes with as much as 210 hp, a constant-speed prop and at least one with a neatly designed retractable gear."

I toyed with it, lol... I would like that myself, but decided not to. It would take alot of work to cut in the wheelwells, work them around the cowling, passenger area, etc. I still have the other planes I am going to do yet, and the upgrade on the Epic.

My sincere apologies.

It would be awesome though.

I believe there were at least 2 with RG.

It might be cool..

But I like it just as it is.....:mixedsmi:

I was going to do a RG version just for myself because I figured no one would like it, lol.. That and a float version.

Float Tailwind sounds great. Must have floats when in Yellowknife, lots of fishing tours and trips.

Let me finish the Avelina and the Epic upgrade first.

Now you all be kind to ole Henry. Just because he's a Britonian and drinks Lager warm doesnt make him a complete 'alien'. :d
