Livingston Taylor; brother of James.

Navy Chief

I have been a fan of Livingston Taylor for years. He is James Taylor's younger brother.

Livingston's voice is similar to James, but with a style all his own.

His biggest hit was, "I Will Be In Love With You"

But there are so many more. His site is at:

Couldn't agree with you more Chief... I was a big James T. fan, and then I heard some of his brothers' stuff...wow.... Similar voice, but I love how his music is more "folk" ...It's like every song is a story... I have had the great opportunity to see him twice in three years here at a local park for free in the summer. Shame of it is, my favorite song that he performs, I do not believe is on any album that he has recorded...and he only performs it live I guess.... It's 'Railroad Bill'.... great song, and hilarious...he really plays to the crowd... I also love that when he is talking to the crowd between songs, he is constantly playing a melody on his guitar... his voice is just soooo soothing... .everyone should look him up...

My sister is vacationing down at Sanibel Island, FL. She called me last night to say that Livingston is playing in restaurant down there. She had never heard of him.

Here's the other part of the story. Back around 1978, when I was a chauffeur in Indianapolis, I had just finished a job, driving Charlie Daniels. His manager offered to send me some LPs, as a courtesy. He sent me 10 LPs, and one happened to be Livingston Taylor, with the song, "I Will Be In Love With You." I liked his style so much, I started collecting his releases. Still do.

He's also very community minded. A while back, the CBS News show, "Sunday Morning" did a piece on New England Town meetings. One of the meetings they filmed was Marthas Vineyard. And there, standing up giving the annual report for the Fire Department was of course, the Fire Chief... Livingston Taylor.
