Lockheed Jetstar Project for FSX, P3D and P3D 64-bit

When I get the model to the Alpha stage, I'll have a comprehensive PK assembled for everyone to use for liveries. The existing UVW mapping was created to accommodate space/memory limitations in FS9. The FSX model I release will be set up to work comfortably within FSX/P3D2 and 3 parameters. The PBR model will be set up for V4 and later which involves an entirely different work flow relating to UVW mapping and PBR materials. Basically two different models for different simulation platforms. The PBR model will be a great opportunity for skinners to learn the ins and outs of PBR painting. The PBR PK will be set up for simplicity of use and include a tutorial.

That is so awesome. Thank you for doing this. I'm still struggling with understanding "FSX Native" painting, and how to convert a model using MCX for such. This will be a great tool for learning. Thank you again.

I thought it was time that I put together a short video walk around of the Jetstar project. She is very much in the rough with the exterior modeling underway, but still using Jim's original interiors. The VC is not ready for the show yet, so the video is shot with the original and some borrowed gauges. More later on the interior work.

She's a beauty for sure. Enjoy

Wow

Gordon, do you realize that after seeing all this I am updating my PC to run FSX "better" and P3D.

I will be in a better position to help you out within the next few weeks (I found my old version of 3DMax 8).

Best

Jim

Appreciate your video update, awesome ! Will this a/c cause any technical concerns when it comes to repaints ?

Regards

Gordon,That is the slickest thing I have seen in a VERY long time. You are going to make a LOT of people very happy!best regards,Bill

Thought you might like Bill. :untroubled:

It reminds me of the Shelby Cobras, or Bill Thomas Cheetah...just a brute.
It's a process, but moving along.

WOW!!! I can hardly wait! I have always liked this form factor. This Lockheed will share a hanger with an Ilyushin Il-62 and a VC10!!

Is this the same Jetstar FSD international started to create some years ago? Are you going to include the teddy bear into cabin :D

Yes this is the former FSD Jetstar....Gordon has taken the project on to convert it to FSX and PD3 standards as a freeware. As far as I know Teddy will be included 😉

Teddy is right where she belongs...on the couch. I made sure she was in the vid. :adoration:

Aircraft Abuse at Pima Air & Space Museum, AZ

It is with great sadness that I post these 2 pictures of former USAF VC-140B's (62-4197 & 62-4200) and what they have become. Friends don't let friends paint! They call this "ART"! Makes me sick to look at them...

Your model is looking fantastic GMan, Thanks for doing it!

4K Video & Update:
The model will be expanded to include the C-140 and Garrett TFE731 turbofan twin engine variants.
Lots of great skins are just waiting.

The first vid was slightly rough, so I smoothed the rough bits, added happy ending at KBIH Eastern Sierra Regional and published in 4K 3840 x 2160/30p. Big improvement.

Very impressive, very impressive!!!! I worked at a FBO while in college and every once in a while one of these babies would come in. It made all the other biz aircraft look small and slow.
