Tis a sad sad, day in Dirtland .... as my trusty joystick has fought it's last battle and has gone to the great silicon scrap-heap in the sky .... RIP my old friend.

The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro has been my favorite stick for many years, but alas it does have one fatal flaw ..... the centering spring. This self centers the the whole stick, when it breaks the aircraft veers sharply to the left & becomes almost unflyable.
Take it into combat again? Fuhgetaboutit!!
The first time this happened I went to the Logitech site & downloaded all their recalibration software but to no avail. This problem is unrepairable. A replacement spring is not available so she's "done like dinner".
This problem is common to most Logitech joysticks.
I have seen a couple of threads about problems with Logitech joysticks so I just wanted to make this info known to everyone who uses them.
But on the positive side, if you contact Logitech "Tech Support" (toll-free number posted on their website) they will send you a coupon for a rebate on a new one. The dollar amount depends upon how old the stick is. (usually $10-$30)
As for me, today I gotta hop down the local store & grab yet another one.
I don't buy them new; I'll get another "refurbished" unit for the Princely sum of $13 + tax (Kanuck bucks) ..... I know it will crap out again in a couple or 3 years .... so what would ya expect for that price?
If you live in southern Ontario, have a look, Factory Direct have many locations:
