I am still working on getting the cactus missions up but decided to take a brake and start working on the Fighter and TBF missions flown from Midway.I decided to start with the flight of the six TBFs that flew from Ford Island to Midway.I had done it before using the 1% TBF and warping. I made it but I had paid no attention to the gass I burned.This time I did it in real time using the 1% TBF. It took 8 hours and a few min. to get there. Takeoff time was 12:00 on the nose and I landed and killed the power at Midway at 19:00.I was able to take a plane with a range of 1090nm. and pump it up 1338nm.I sat at the controlls the whole time,when I finished I had no feeling in my back side my arms ached and I was really tired.I was about ready to ditch when I saw Midway so I decided to try for it. after landing and killing the engine,the gass gage was showing between the last hash mark and empty.If I decide to upload the fighter and TBF missions flown I will include this one.I don`t plan on doing that one again anytime soon.:typing:

Please make it optional BoBhegf. Eight hour flying in Sim nowdays is very dificult to say the least. We are all very busy in the real world. Thank you for showing us the progress of your up comming project. Keep us inform please. Iäm looking forward to its release day!:wave:

And, that being said, I like the autopilot for such "missions" so that the sim keeps flying, while I get other things accomplished. I mean, after all, the Pacific Ocean ain't got a whole lot to look at..............:help:
I once flew around the world in CFS2. But not in one sitting and not without autopilot.

Bob, that was quite a trip. You became a part of the simulation.
Add in a few more factors like the sun glaring through a plexiglass canopy, vibration, hunger and thirst, and engine noise way louder than what our speakers put out, and you can see why flight crews can fall asleep so easily when they finish a mission. Now throw that sweaty flight suit in the laundry and go get some "crew rest". :d

A little EX LAX in the chocolate bar the night before, 30-45 minutes in the head in the morning and a Marine is good to go for the long haul.:faint:
Just gotta make sure your flight is scheduled later in the AM so you can make that head call!

I once thought about doing something like that with an F6F-3 w/extra fuel tank and figuring it would take about that long, I talked myself out of it.
