Long lost website

I thought the original Merc Air website was probably long gone, but I found the link to it on my comp tonite and it's still there. So here's a blast from the past for the old timers here...

http://mercair.tripod.com/

I really wonder if the best years of flight simulation are behind us. Now days everything is about self-shadows, massive detail, etc, and all of that comes at the cost of adding the additional stress of having to have very expensive computer.

The good old days, the CFS1 squadrons I was in that I can't even remember, and the BSS squadron I was in in CFS2. Does anyone remember the name of the dog fighting contests that were between all of the squadrons? There was a website that hosted the stats.

Dang we had a blast but I can't even remember our rival’s names anymore. I wish I could go back. Can’t say the same about wishing I could go back and play Fs2000-2002 online, though the Concorde was nice while it lasted.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Wow, that site does go back aways. :) I think MRC_Worm is TekWorm whom I remember from (I think) the original SOH site?

I remember you guys always hated me, and them ickie mods, lol
if them forums had "miserable user" feature, I would have always been miserable.

Yeah...those Ickie-mods were rather dispised in-game. But you do know that pretty much every one of us had at least one of either yours or Hans' "troll-busters" in the hanger! :)

oddly enough, some of us are still at it.
there are about a dozen of us that meet every Sunday at 15:00 GMT and
I think the 45th still flies on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
to avoid the headaches and bickering, we only fly stockers and an occasional Roger Lowery Bomber from the RAF662.
sorry Ickie, no mods.
the beauty of CFS is that many of the guys are still using the old clunker machines with little or no ill affects.

come to think of it, we have been talking about having a fly in and trying to get some of the old timers to drop in. anybody interested?
Guests are always welcome. you just need CFS with CFO_Weather and TeamSpeak2.

Yep..

Now its about getting a new graphics card, a new Mobo, a new chipset, a new overclock tune.. Trying to get the darn thing to run!!! lol...

Yes, as we all get older we can easily understand why our parents always said " The good old times"!!!:icon29:..I say it all the time now......

What I want to know Willy is this referring to yours and where can I get some...

For medicinal purposes of course :kilroy:

Conversion Rates

One standard gold bar = 7 cases good whiskey, 12 cases so-so whiskey,
-or- One Jug of Willy's Moonshine (yup, It's That Good!).

Yep, that was me when I was living out in the woods of SW Arkansas and had dial up piped in between the trees. Now that I'm living in semi-civilized Tennessee, I can't get away with that kind of stuff anymore.

Ickie it wasn't you, but those darned super-mods we hated. Even though like Mopar said, we all had one stashed back in the hanger just in case some idiot thought he had to cheat with one instead of fighting a fair fight.

If I remember correctly my favorite mods were all made by a guy called Crazyhorse and he had a website for them all. They were unstoppable.

I had 1 mod with speeds of 2000 mph
360* x 360* guns radus
1396 guns
5 miles each round would travel
NOTE!! the reason of only 1396 guns was because it was all notepad could hold.

when you pulled the trigger in an online game your screen would stop for everyone in game. it was a frame rate freezer.

Without sounding too crazy guys nothing has changed,... I still had to upgrade to run CFS, then CFSII, B-17 The mighty Eigth had a massive upgrade path.

Things looks better when looking back in tinted glasses but nothing has really changed.
