I'm curious.. i noticed that the invasion stripes on the Thud are the same as on the Widow. I.E. they only go half way around whatever they are paainted on ( empanage or wing ). do you know if this was standard on all D-Day fighters or not??
 
This is the funniest thing ever, I was on CFS3 before and was talking to Ian Warren about this aircraft as I was flying it on CFS3 and asked "wounder if jankees has done a repaint for the A2A P-47 with these markings"

Pam, the invasion stripes were full circumference ON D-DAY, the day they were used. Very soon afterwards, the tops started being quickly painted over, for camoflage reasons. The bottoms were left showing so friendly ground troops would hopefully, not fire on them. Sometimes the upper stripes could still be seen thru the quickly painted top camo. Each aircraft was different, and the texture being copied would be for a specific time frame in the aircraft's life.

don't you worry, Pam, you just produce the maps when you're ready, and I'll see what I can do with them. In the mean time, I'm just enjoying myself.
How is the Hudson coming along, Francois?
