Looked everywhere... ABSquad has one... I did NOT download it!

BUT... does anyone know who the ORIGINAL maker of the plane is?

The "Pete" was a single-engine observation float seaplane (F1M1 and F1M2) or seaplane trainer (F1M2-K). It had all-metal construction with fabric-covered control surfaces. It was widely used by the Japanese Navy during the Pacific War, and although designed primarily as an observation aircraft, the type was also used for other duties, including anti-submarine patrol, convoy escort, gunfire observation, and, on occasion, light bombing.

And cousin "Dave", same website:

The E8N was developed from the Nakajima E4N and served with the Imperial navy at the beginning of World War II. It's extreme vulnerability led it being quickly relegated to secondary duties such as communications, liaison and training.

The 'Dave' is actually a tweaked adaption of the Vought Corsair floatplane that I did for Blondi a while back ='Bogus Dave' :costumes:. Does ABSsquad happen to mention that :banghead:.
The Pete pictured is Charles Simpsons.

A new E8N surely would be a great addition to the fleet. "All" [I'm sticking my foot in it here with this general statement] IJN Sea Plane Carriers had a complement on-board though out the war according to there Tabular Records of Movement (TROMs).

There was a great "Real Battle Panel" by "Kazunari Shinada" Producer/Copyright from the OneG Pilots Club now defunked. He produced both a gray and green motif. Then dropped the gray motif for some reason. If you can fined one it is a great panel! In his panel.cfg he states "Do not modify this panel package". So! Where we go from there I do not know.

Yashico has made a beautiful F1M2, and Talos skinned it two years ago -see the pics- with 5 different liveries. Unfortunately, never uploaded them: he posted them as attachments in an interesting thread.
The Yashico plane however is still available.

Vought Corsair floatplane? I did not see that one coming but it is. The tail makes it a Corsair. No wonder I couldn't find a E8N out there any were.:isadizzy:

I have put out several impassioned pleas for both an E8n Dave and an E7 Alf but so far no luck. I keep hoping though.both were used in every theater through the war but are not available exept as Old Wheats Fax "Dave" and an ancient fs 98 Alf. Oh well .

Blondi:cost1:

Blondi? Do you have this O2U Corsair done as Dave as oldwheat says? It may be the best any one can get.:kilroy:

It may also be best to find somthing that's look like to E7 Alf ou there and paint it up to be a E7 Alf .

Anyone could tell me where I could get the skins made by Talos?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dominic, the skins made by Talos were never uploaded as such and as stated above, they were only issued as attachments to Talos´s posts. The posts were very interesting for the historic informations, which accompanied every skin. Some time ago a tried to compile all the original posts into one pdf file wih all the informations provided by Talos, but unfortunately never finished the project and now everything is probably lost after the forum crash.

Maybe someone downloaded at least all the skins and we should try to get Talos´s permission to upload them as a pack.

Mike

The fax Dave is at SOH. Just go to American Missions in the CFS2 ADD-ONS. Download #17 "CS scratch one flat top". It is in the download. It was Reskined for this mission pack. There is an E7 Alf. It was made for either FS98, or CFS1. It is of that early type construction. The skin is not authentic. Its just someones idea of camo.No investigation was made in this regard. This E7 is also in the Mission pack.
